gsijay Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Hi guys Basically I book a 6 day course but the CBT is over 2 Saturday's is this normal? Quote
mikestrivens Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 It depends on how the instructor felt you were doing. They won't (perhaps shouldn't) let you out on the road until they are satisfied you are not a danger to yourself or other road users. Quote
gsijay Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Yeah but they haven't even seen me yet? Quote
mikestrivens Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Fair enough, why don't you ask them? Quote
gsijay Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Cheers MikeI suppose that's why they recommend the 6 day course Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Some less scrupulous schools recommend the max so they can dip their hands in your wallet. Having said that if you can afford it the more days it’s over the easier it will be. Quote
learningtofly Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I've never heard of a 6 day course for a CBT - surely that can't be right? Quote
SometimesSansEngine Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I've never heard of a 6 day course for a CBT - surely that can't be right? I read it as a DAS type course but they're doing two days on CBT type stuff/125sIs it two full days gsijay? Quote
gsijay Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 CBT on site work 8am till 2pmSat 23rd 12.30 till 1600 125 session road and 600cc session 26 th Feb 12.30 till 1600 600cc session 5th MarchMMA SESSION 8.30 till 120011th March Mod 112.30 till 160022nd March12.30 till 1600MOD 2ALL THAT FOR £745does this sound right guys Quote
Westbeef Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Yep, price is reasonable and it's saying you'll be off a 125 and onto a 600 the same day as your CBT so not bad at all Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Looks alright to me. They’re only half days but they add up price wise. Half days are probably better for learning, there’ll be time for it to sink in before the next session. Quote
gsijay Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Sat 16th first bit of CBT.... my tying error. Quote
trcooke Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Half days are probably better for learning, there’ll be time for it to sink in before the next session.Agreed on that point. I learned over a longer period of time with 2 hour lessons once or twice a week or so and I was usually pretty tired after those 2 hours so even half days would be physically tough. But then again I'm 40 years old so may not be such a problem for a young-un. Quote

Via Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Looks like you do CBT first Saturday and seconds Saturday you just start on a 125 until they are confident and you move up to 600, this is fairly standard practice when starting fresh. Quote
SometimesSansEngine Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I'd also agree that half days probably isn't a bad thing. I was knackered after my CBT and all day training days. Not sure whether "MMA SESSION" refers to Mixed Martial Arts, I can only assume that it doesn't because I can't see how it's relevant unless you're one for indulging in road rage. Quote
