Breadsnapper Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Hi all, right then bough 4 new Led indicators and fitted them yesterday.First issue they only came with one wire so I presume that they would earth through the metal body. Anyway ended up having to solder and earth wire to each to get them to work..Every time I wired up and fitted an indicator I checked it and the hazard lights work. Now all four are fitted when I switch the indicators on left or right nothing happens for about five seconds then they start flashing and sometimes nothing happens at all. And the hazard lights don't work at all.I am thinking that the bulbs aren't led as sold with the lights and despite looking at them I really can't tell if the are or not.Any ideas please because I spent 8 hours yesterday with the dark art that is motorbike electrics. Marino Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 I don’t hate it I just don’t understand itAnd more I try to learn less I know Quote
fastbob Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 One wire ? Surely that's a bit unusual ? Not many bikes these days are going to have earths all over them especially on the forks or anywhere plastic . I wonder why they were sold like that ? Quote
Breadsnapper Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Thanks for the replies. Put new Led bulbs in and it turns out the original cheap indicators had resistors in them. The original flasher relay didn't have a resistor so got myself a unit with a resistor in it and hey presto all is now working fine.Everyday is a school day, thanks again.Dave. Quote
