Honda VT 500

I've bought a Honda VT 500 1988 and the engine is completely shot I'm struggling to find a replacement is there an alternative engine I can use or does anyone have good one for sale

There are very few engines around, whats wrong with it

before you go any further check the swinging arm, thats where they rust

Exactly how shot is shot ? There are plenty of bits of engine on eBay but no complete ones as I'm sure you know . Can you not cobble one together ?
