sam11189 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 hope everyones well, i noticed my front pads on my left side front caliper were rubbing on the disc, jacked the bike up and i get a 1.5 turns of the wheel, using reasonable force with my arms. ive already rebuilt the caliper in question, new seals, fresh brake fluid, system bled, brakes work great. no brake judder or pulsing, brake discs seem in fair condition.whats peoples thoughts, is it quite normal? i feel like there is more friction there than there should be. cheere Quote
fastbob Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Check the temperature of the calliper after riding as far as possible without using the front brakes . This is just to make sure it's not getting dangerously hot which can sometimes cause a calliper to seize on at the worst possible moment . Quote
Ian Frog Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I agree with fastbob some dragging is perfectly normal and if you have recently serviced these components it`s not a surprise especially if you are comparing it to the other caliper and you haven`t given that one the same attention.A brief ride using rear brakes (Lol good luck with that !) then temp check caliper is the way to go.CheersIan Quote
