Hi

I am a newbie.........so hiya to everyone here.

I need some advice as I am at the age of 31 new to biking and have myself a 2005 mito 125 to learn on.

I am having a few problems with the bike and hoping someone can help me out.

The bike will start after cleaning the plug, but after starting from cold with choke on the bike will run for around 50 - 60 seconds then it slowly drops the revs and cuts out.........I have tried to increase/decrease choke from cold but it still does the same a cuts out then will refuse to start unless the plug is cleaned.

The current plug is dark, not sooty but dark/black and damp, im guessing that though all the starting it has flooded?

Also when i got the bike there was a lot of sticky oily gunk coming from the exhaust (where the end can is connected to the centre part) I have cleaned this and also screwed it back on properly as the last owner had let it work loose.

Now I am hoping that if I pop in a new plug and take the thing for a good ride this might help the problem as the bike has not been properly used for a good 6 months or so.

If anyone has any advice I would be grateful!

Cheers

Kenny

as a 2stroke sounds like too much oil in petrol [too rich]---- but been caught before on a similar question in that some 2 strokes have a seperate oil chamber and not sure if this does----put some straight petrol in tank to 'dilute' the oil

It's been a long time since I had a 2 stroke

As wolfie says as soon as it's started turn choke off and try to keep it going with revs.

if it's been stood the petrol could have gone off.

some black deposits are normal but it could need de-coking.

if you can get it going get it warm then give it a damn good thrashing
