Jerry1111 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Ordered two sets of boots (from SBS, used the link!). One set is too narrow so it will come back. The second set (TCX Baja) is a comfy fit, but...I can't change the frigging gear! No matter what I'm trying to do, I can barely fit the boot under the shift lever to shift up - it would help if I had another ankle! It's time to stop using my walking boots for riding, but WTF is wrong with these TCXs?How do you all deal with that? Also, should the fit on the foot be tight, loose or what? These are my first motorcycle boots. Quote
exportmanuk Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 HiThe leather will stretch a little but in winter you may want thicker socks so look for a comfortable fit.Gear change can be moved depending on the bike will depend on how it is adjusted but you should be able to move it to a better position Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I have a pair of TCX and I find the gear change position different from my other boots. But you get used to it, it just means a slightly different riding position. If it's really difficult take the gear selector off and move it up slightly. But do it in small amounts as small changes make a big difference. Quote
raesewell Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Have you adjusted the gear lever? As already suggested. Quote
Jerry1111 Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 Visited SBS, changed boots to a better fit.The gear lever is adjusted. Initially I thought I'll run out of adjustable range, but turns out this is very sensitive.Test ride tomorrow!Hopefully the biggest problem will be fine tuning that gear lever for a perfect match with new boots Quote
