If you ride with the visor open for a long time with a pinlock insert...

Reckon this is my issue, I do like a breeze

That Muc Off anti fog is really good for glasses in combination with the pin lock. I still need to open the visor sometimes as too much moistures makes the glasses go abit blurry because of the coating it puts on your glasses. Thats still better than glasses fogging up.

I tried everything to stop my glasses steaming up in the past. I found it impossible.

I have worn contact lenses for around 5 years now. Much better.

It’s just too dangerous when your specs steam up.

Sounds liks you dont need to try it now you have cintwxts, but hsve you tired Muc Off Anti Fog spray?

I as considering contacts lens, but put off by some people i know who developed irritable and sesnitive eyes by long term contact lens use.

Also i have heard the ride vibrations can make vision blurry with contact lens in, do you ever have that experience?

Yeah I tried the Muc off stuff. Didn’t work for me.

I ride for pleasure and mostly only wear contacts when I ride. I have dry eyes and never had a problem with contacts. Never had vibrating eyes either.

Another reason I have just remembered why I hate wearing glasses under my lid is that the rims obscure my vision when observing at junctions and doing life savers.

Defo give the contacts a try. Vision Express do a monthly subscription that is very good. You can even order online once you have your prescription which can work out pretty good.

I use daily throw away’s but as you say, not for much longer. Can’t bloody wait!

Whys that? You getting laser eye surgery or something?

I booked an appointment with vision express for contact lens assessment and trial.

I have just discovered I have cataracts and will be having lens replacement surgery sometime early November.

You won’t regret it. Think mine worked out at about £1.50 ish a pair for multi focal contacts. Well worth it for no hassle vision on the bike. Also when you don’t fancy wearing glasses on any given day or occasion.

EDIT:

The first few times you put them in and take them will be horrible. Takes a bit of getting used to but once the muscle memory kicks in it’s a doddle.

I ended up ignoring the advice I was given at Vision Express and devised my own way of putting them in and taking out. I can now pop them in/out with one hand.

Don’t be disheartened just persevere. It took me bloody ages to get them in the first time at home and I wasted two pairs. Glad they do the free replacements

I don't need glasses to ride yet thank heavens, I also don't trust the sprays having tried them before I learned about pin lock.

Yes they work they stop your visor steaming up to a point, then at that point the hole visor misted up with no warning. I preferred without spray where it would mist in corners first and I could crack visor before it became a problem.
