liamd123 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Hi Everyone im new here so apologies if this is posted in the incorrect forum.. I own a honda cbr 125r and the engine has given up the price to fix is more than a second hand engine.. My bike is a 2013 Honda cbr 125 r repsol model. There is an engine for sale on ebay for £400 however it is from a 2010 model bike but still fuel injected. Im just looking for some advice as to whether i could fit the 2010 engine. The 2010 model uses an analogue speedo but other than that i cant see any difference.. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Quote
dynax Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 How much more is it to get yours repaired, as a second hand engine maybe cheaper but you don't know it's history, where as if you have your original one rebuilt you will literally have a new reconditioned engine, which maybe better in the longrun Quote
fastbob Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 What's actually wrong with your engine ? Given up is rather a vague description . Perhaps you only need to buy a top end or just a barrel and piston . I have noticed a trend of late for inexperienced riders to replace whole sub assembly's such as carbs and engine's without getting to the root of the problem . Quote
