husoi Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 The pads should look like they are rubbing on the disk. What actually happens is that they are very close but apart enough to not touch the disk. If the pistons are all the way in and the master cylinder doesn't push them out then likely is that the master cylinder's seal is faulty and leaks (internally). The easiest way is to remove the line at the calliper and by pressing the pedal check if you get any decent pressure. You shouldn't be able to hold the pressure with your finger. As it is a new calliper (and by the photo you posted) I am lead to believe that the old one was in a poor condition and the same would go for the cylinder. Worth while test it as above and be prepared to replace the seals. Quote

Have just reverse bled front and back, no evidence of any air in pipes, constant flow of fluid when nipple broken, Pads are now just touching disk, both res are full. Still no resistance, got to be Master cylinder, cant find a leak in any pipes.!! 1 Quote

Attach a long clear tube ( B&Q ) to the open bleed nipple and suck on it until fluid comes out without too many bubbles . Then try bleeding it again . Quote

Hi Fastbob, Have done all that, think we have narrowed it down to the Master cylinder, just ordered a new one. Got help from Husoi on this site ! Quote
