With 516m this is the longest pedestrian bridge in the world (unfortunately the site is in Portuguese only for now).

Located 40 miles south east from Porto is locally know for twists and turns ideal for bikers.

 

The complex comprise the "Paiva walkways" although less than 10 miles away you expect to take around 30 to 45 min travel due to the style of road.

Only two hours away from my mother-in-law's, but only an hour from the airport. As we occasionally fly back home later in the eve it might be a good shout for an interim stop to waste time in the day....
