Aftermarket mono shock

Hello I’m in the process of rebuilding an 2003 Honda xlr 125 ( new project) the genuine mono shock needs replacing at a cost of 260….can anyone recommend an aftermarket shock or supplier That I can look at that is cheaper ?

In my experience aftermarket shocks are usually more expensive than OEM parts. OEM bits are usually as cheap as the manufacturer can get away with.

The rear shock on my VK1 is £800 and is non serviceable. 
 

I’ve just paid £650 for a Hyperpro rear shock which has twice as much preload and rebound adjustment and can be serviced.
