fifthwheel Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Hi all, looking to buy a lightweight cruiser (if such a thing exists) I am riding a Fazer 600 from 2003 about 210kgs love the bike but need something lighter. 74 years old next month. I dont mind going down to 250cc but would like something bigger but still light. I read some where that the Rebel is 200kg but carries its weight lower than the Fazer. I am finding town riding and manual handling a bit too much for me these days. I think I have asked a similar question on here before but cant find it to see the replies. Being an old fart I like the look of the old bikes as opposed to the new look (the big gap between the rear wheel and the mudguard) Is anybody riding a Honda Rebel to give me a bit of advice or suggestions for an alternative? I have read the Rebel is not very popular and not very well liked, why is this? Thanks John. Quote
Ian Frog Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 If that kind of thing appeals also look at the Kawasaki (Vulcan I think) very low slung and looks an easy thing to manouver. Cheers Ian Quote
Bender Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 If you want light but bigger Ducati 1199 Superleggera, light but expensive I think the 500 rebel sounds ideal for you, low seat, light weight, probably not the most exciting thing on the road but hey if it makes life easier.... Quote

fifthwheel Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Thanks everybody for the replies, I can feel a ride on a Rebel coming on if I can find one. I really want to stick to Jap although the new 350 Royal Enfield looks a contender but its looks very small (said the actress to the Bishop) I sat on one a few weeks ago it does feel light but on the specs its nearly as heavy as the Fazer. I think you would be bored of the power on the 350 very quickly, the rebel is enough of a drop on the fazer as it is. It is lighter than the fazer at just over 190kg kerb weight but urggggg, the rebel is pretty much same weight but did I say urggggg enough before You need to sit and ride before making any judgment Quote
