Not starting on starter

I did some running around on the Enfield today and by 4pm. It wouldn't start, I needed to go to the hospital to see Mrs. Ex who is a patient at the moment. I started it on the kick start (the benefit of old style bike) I have had a quick look and I think it's not charging, I will have a proper look tomorrow. Can anyone help with how to test the alternator and voltage regulator please?

I've had a look and it was an easy diagnosis, the fuse had heated up and burned through the fuse holder and the wire, I have bodged it for now (soldered the wire back and cleaned and tightened up the holder and fixed the hole with tape) The part is not available so I will put in an inline fuse carrier and new fuse.  It is possible it may have been faulty for some time, I normally keep the bike on a maintenance charger and do 1 or 2 trips on it, yesterday I did a lot of running around with many start-ups flattening the battery.  I've looked on eBay but not sure of the quality so I'm off the Halfords.  Thanks for the help guys.

I've removed the bodge and as the original fuse carrier is no longer available I've put in a blade fuse, I used crimped connections as solder can suffer with the vibration 20220622_140207.thumb.jpg.bfc7e294fa16b4e6a2bdfbdf68518954.jpg20220622_142202.thumb.jpg.01cc22e0f0121173ac56932e8c869e18.jpg
