Clunk Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Had a 125 for a long while. Bought second hand. had loads of problems with it. had the bike running yesterday. had a go at fitting a new full aftermarket exhaust system. had burning smell so turned it off. went to start it today... Nothing but a click noise when I try to start it. anyone know what the hell iv done? Quote
Stu Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 As above The clicking is the starter relay due to not having enough power to start the bike Charge the battery as for the burning smell it might just be because the exhaust is new Quote
iangaryprice Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 When you tirn the ignition on, do the lights show on the instrument panel. If yes then the battery has at least some charge. When you try to start, do they do dim? If yes then your battery is weak/discharged. As said above try charging the battery Quote
Clunk Posted June 26, 2022 Author Posted June 26, 2022 Ian, thank you for your reply. display works ok. Lights and gauges. I will try the charging of battery. took exhaust off again, noticed the gasket is kinked. Will order a new one and refit the exhaust. Quote
Bender Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Could be a bad connection on the starter solonoid or the solonoid itself Quote
