Worth keeping on the todo list mind The hoses will definitely be replaced. Not on this month budget. Need to recover the finances before spending anymore on it. megaross Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Love new parts, love freebies more. Used to be into computers years ago and one of the parts suppliers used to send 10p bags of haribo with the order. It was the best. I mean it's a 10p bag of sweets but I have child brain, see them and go "ooh sweeties!" The amount of lanyards, pens and mugs I've had from dealers over the years for free, never even bought through a dealer. Not to mention the amount of White Dalton neck tubes I've got from the stall at bike events. And the handful of pens I nick from the MOT place every year that keeps me in stationary for work. 1 Quote

Guest Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I always knew what a brake disc was but now I know the bit that makes the brakes go is a caliper? Shout at me if I'm being thick JJ Quote

husoi Posted October 28, 2023 Author Posted October 28, 2023 Morning update Rear wheel ready to go back in place Front callipers now waiting for disks to arrive and be fitted 3 Quote
oldgrump Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Hi @husoi, HEL do a kit for the ST1300, and if you know anyone who go's to the BSB meetings, get them to check out the HEL stand, at Cadwell the other year I brought 2 set's of lines for the VFR's, Can't remember how much they were then for each set, but got both set's for around £530, making a whopping saving! Set now is £400 + £40 for Clutch line. Ended up flogging one set on eBay. But if not in rush for lines see next year if you can get a price from stand. 1 Quote

Chrissb6 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 You need to shop around depending on the ware on the disc's you might be able to get them serviced. These guy's are defiantly worth a call Welcome To The Disc Doctor.co.uk Custom Designed and Machined Brake Discs & Bike Parts.. Quote
husoi Posted November 11, 2023 Author Posted November 11, 2023 The old disks are beyond repair, pitted badly. The repair would bring them below recommended thickness so it's a no. Quote
husoi Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 All fitted back and all fluid replaced/bleed. Now rear brake is stuck Youtube is saying probably cause the secondary front master cylinder maybe needing servicing. Some guy replaced the balancing valve. From memory the secondary cylinder was working properly. So, either the balancing valve (a pain to replace) or need to rebuild the rear master. While at it, maybe better to bite the bullet and get the 139 hoses and replace the whole lot. Service the rear master, service the balancing valve. costs are creeping up... 1 Quote
megaross Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 But think how good it'll be once you have spent a million pounds on it. Logic Quote
