Sorry to hear that but not surprised, thats why most people avoid them. 
 

Well if your in a real pickle id choose the nearest bike it relates to like a suzuki gs and use those as a guideline.

Put this down to experience, dont buy one and spread the word.

The way you generally torque bolts on those is you get the inch and a half ugga dugga, the type fanny craddock used to keep for Saturday nights with Johnny.

 

And you put it on the swingarm bolt, lifting the bike as you do so.

 

You then spin the bike rapidly until it F**ks off into the heart of the sun never to be seen again, and go buy something worth putting time and money into.

I didn't know what a Sinnis was but a quick check on Google suggests there are pdf copies of various Sinnis manuals available free, if you haven't already tried that.  They look tidy enough from the pictures and the reviews seem ok, based on a quick glance. After all, if, as you say, you were given it, you really can't go wrong.

I agree not worth putting money into but to make sure it's safe to ride etc

Tbh you can usually apply a bit of common sense to torque unless you're into tight tolerance stuff - engines and things.

 

Something like a rear axle nut? Gutentight

Brake caliper? Give it a nip up

Head bearings? Usually tighten up like a motherfucker to seat, loosen then about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn - you can feel when they're right.

 

My advice, list the essential jobs and tackle in priority order. Crossing off as you go.
