Hello to all.  I am a new convert (in progress) to motorcycling.  I have been an avid pedal cyclist for many years, however I am now looking to take the plunge into motorised two wheels.  I am yet to take my CBT - aiming to do so before the winter sets in.

I do have a dilemma - I am quite tall 6ft 5in with a 35 inch inseam and I am drawn to Cruisers for the more relaxed ride as a fair weather motorcyclist.  Can anyone offer any advice on a suitable bike I can consider.  I will inevitably go to a dealer to try out, test ride etc, however I wanted to do some research in advance.  All feedback greatly appreciated.

I have been looking at the V-Cruise 125, I have sat on one which seemed to fit, I am yet to try one out properly though.

Thanks

Granted this isn't what you asked but I'd suggest taking a cbt first, you may well find a love you didn't realise existed and fancy something more adult, I did one and immediately decided to do my direct access and go straight to a full size bike.

Apologies I have no bike suggestions, I'm very new to bikes myself (also a long term cyclist)

After riding a larger bike I definitely made the right decision to skip the 125 stage imo.

What he says is right. Once you've been on a bike and have put a few miles behind you, you could find your whole perception of what you want to get out of it changes.

And to be fair, at 6ft 5 you're going to struggle to find a 125 that's not going feel cramped.

Have a look at www.cycle-ergo.com for an idea of how good a fit a bike is for you.

Hi yes they are correct, get some feel while doing the cbt, as lo to sit on their next bigger category bike and see the difference. If you are really wanting to stick to a small engine and size then the old Honda varadero will probably be a worth while look.

Think the direct access/full class license will make more sense and more options for your biometrics.

due to your height you’ll be really looking for a long wheel base bike with foot forward peg set up (like Harley’s) or adventure bikes with decent length suspension or large figure triangle fitment (peg, seat, bar), no rush or need to get the biggest sized engine it’s more for ergonomics…
