RideWithStyles Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Yes bet it was, It can only get better after those! Quote
Egon247 Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Back in the man cave. I knew it would need some more stuff doing to it, so no huge surprise. So, it's still starting on 3, it's not happy starting at all. All the sparks are there so it has to be fuel related due to it being one of those simple engines with almost zero electronic stuff. The clutch has been ordered as anything over 50% throttle and it just goes "nah mate" and slips. Biting point is the last 10mm of lever travel too. Maybe some adjustable levers might fall into my basket.... 1 Quote
Egon247 Posted Monday at 14:53 Author Posted Monday at 14:53 So. I'm still alive. Clutch done, wasn't a bad job actually as you can do it without draining the oil. Just plop it on the side stand for a couple of days and then go to it. The hardest part is getting all the old gasket off. That took a while! Bought an adjustable clutch lever too, so that went on with a bit of fiddling. Had to bleed the clutch again as it was doing precisely nothing after the change, so a bit of bleeding and it sounds ok. Forgot to soak the plates in oil, so started it up for a bit to get them oily and then left it. Then a bit of investigation on the starting issues. The carbs were out of balance AGAIN. so the diy doodad came out and I have worked out it's a shite site easier without the tank on to do the carbs. Got there in the end. It's starting a bit better. I'll give it a while then if it doesn't play ball I'll have each of the carbs in bits again. Onward and upward.... 4 Quote
