VOGE R125 Maintenance

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi,

New biker here, just got my CBT and hoping to get my new VOGE r125 (was going to get suzuki gsxs125 but was over a grand more expensive) over the next few weeks. Question though, as i am brand new to motorbiking is there any maintenance that will be required or are new bikes very reliable to start with?

I don't plan on having the 125 long, maybe 1 year tops and go to full license.

Any hints or tips would be great :)

Thanks

Hi and welcome.

It would have been a grand more well spent (with better return) and far more reliable.
Keep chain clean and to the correct tension. Anti corrosion protection is advised.

others will be on to add more.

Is your bike new as in brand new? If so, best to ask the dealer or check in the handbook.

There are obvious things like, you need to check your tyre pressures, check the oil level, and keep the chain oiled. Clean the chain every 1000 miles or more often if you're riding in wet or muddy conditions.

As for servicing, normally a brand new bike needs an oil change at 600 miles or so, and then services at regular intervals. What's needed is in the handbook, and it's important to follow the schedule it sets out.

I did think that also, but there is so much conflicting info nowadays it is tricky. But to be honest the black on black voge 125 looks better in the "flesh" so i thought "sod it", Christmas bonus gotta go on something lol :) Also the voge seat was way more comfy, as was riding position (for me anyway).

This is so important, and often very much overlooked, so it seems you've already made a good decision.

For a long time Chinese bikes were thought to be badly made with little support for maintenance, but it seems this is rapidly changing with manufacturers like Voge and CF Moto leading the way.

Congratulations on your purchase @laughsatcats, welcome to the forum, and welcome to biking 😁

Another issue is my shed in my back garden, it'll be tricky for bike handle bars to go through door, easier to just put a cover over it and leave outside by backdoor, chained to something?

There's a few threads on here.

Here's one for starters.

Also, does your insurance specify that the bike has to be garaged over night?

Chained under cover around the back is way better than at the front.

Thieves love 125's 😒

Hey,

I own a Voge 125R and need to check the engine timing. I see a cover at the bottom of the image, which I know is related to checking the timing. However, I'm unsure if the bolt on top is also involved, or if I need to remove the engine cover above to access the timing mechanism. If anyone knows the purpose of the top bolt and whether I can remove it safely, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

To check the engine timing you would usually remove the bottom cover circled. This will have a mark for top dead centre on.

The bigger one underneath that is for turning the engine to the right place. And you would need to take the cylinder head cover off to check the timing marks on the cam.
