I bought a Sena 50r  second hand and i am having issues with the mic.  I can connect using mesh and BT fine and i can hear the other person clear as day.  However neither could hear me.  I dont know if there is a setting that may be affecting it (according to the app its not muted) or if i have a faulty mic or even a faulty unit.  I have already done a factory reset.

Anyone have any ideas???

I have the same problem. No one on the other end of the phone can hear me. But it's not the mic, as it responds fine to voice commands. Fortunately, I don't like speaking to people on the phone, so I'm to live with it as it is.

i have not tested voice commands, so might be worth a try.  I was wondering if there was some sort of mute that had been enabled on the unit (but not reporting in the app).

Got a new mic and still no one can hear me on comms or phone.

Really pissed this seems like a dud, any ideas what could cause this? The sound is fine just nothing being picked up from the mic.

The only answer I have is to bin it and buy a new one from sportsbikeshop.  I have tried everything and it don't seem to work.

I contacted the bloke I get the impression he knew it didn't work. Its my fault for not testing properly.

Well sorry hear but to say it……buy once and pay twice.
Id demand my money back for selling shite goods knowing it was junk-  I personally don’t understand why people do that.

Bad rep the mofo if they dont.

buy once from an actual retailer of goods like these once and get a higher chance of many years of use.

Just going off topic a little, but the built in battery in my Sena 50R lasted about 3 years before it died. According to Sena it's not replaceable, but I found one* via Aliexpress (and with a slightly bigger mAh capacity). It came to about £10 all in so I took a punt. Three weeks later and it turned up in the post.  A bit of careful disassembly & reassembly, all in half an hours work, and it worked!

*There are two types of connectors (two or three wires) and you won't know which you'll need until you've opened the unit up, but it's pretty straight forward and if clumsy big hands here can do it, anyone can.
