I have been a pillion on a k-reg Yamaha Diverson 400.

It was shocking. The exhausts looked stupid, it sounded terrible, the pillion seat made my ass numb and the only reason you could tell there was full throttle was the noise not the speed..lol

I will however say yes because this looks like a significant improvement.

Think its about 76 bhp

Its a detuned fz6 which in turn is a detuned r6 motor!

Lol yeh thats helpful. Is it a 1000cc or something? lol

fz6 is a 600cc I believe. Will be a bit laking on power as far as bikes go really. Shame, as looks wise, it's not too shabby to me.

A twice detuned engine. I think Honda do the same... CBR600 engine is detuned for the hornet, then detuned again for the CBF600... In fact I think the CBF600 has roughly the same power output as this bike.

may be why it sounded awful and the speed issue was it was a 400

I think it looks awesome. Yamaha make nice looking bikes...

If done right it will be less revvy and have more torque for lower speed, round town use than the fazer. For many riders depending on their intended use I reckon this would be a better first bike or commuter (again, if done right), which would also be a competent all-rounder. If you want a sports bike, you wouldn't be considering this bike anyhow.

On the other hand... Yamaha playing catch-up with Suzuki again (gsx650f)... :D
