Seamus Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Hi All Im a scooterist but my son has a Daelim 125. the bike wont start . It turns over ok it had an error code on the M.I.L. 2 space 3 and repeats. according to the manual its a fuel pump issue. the pump works fine and the fuel gauge also works fine. i took the pump out and checked it over for any issues but none showed. the injector has a weak spray I cleaned it with injector cleaner but it made no differance. so i replaced it but still has a weak spray. I have an injector test kit which shows both injectors give a fine spray. if i remove the injector and spray easy start the bike fires up ok. i suspected the ECU so i replaced that same result. give me 2 strokes anytime. cheers for your time. regards jim Quote
RideWithStyles Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Few things to try, might be one thing to two smaller ones creating a bigger one? Well it might not be directly the pump but something about the system. so is there a blockage with the filter? (External or internal) so when pressure is applied it’s sucking on it and blocking the flow. is there a trapped pipe or seal creating a vacuum in the system? Maybe a pipe or seal has cracks or a tiny hole. with the last one try checking the wiring or connectors for high resistance. 1 Quote
Seamus Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Cheers for the fast reply. i have replaced the fuel hose, but no change. also tried without the air box on , no joy. as you say looking like a wiring issue that will be the next tests Cheers Jim Quote
Mickly Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Fuel injected bikes have a fuel pressure regulator somewhere between the pump & the injector, don’t know about your bike set up, but I had a similar issue where the regulator was gummed up and constantly partially open thus bleeding off the fuel pressure that should be going to the injector. 1 Quote
Hairsy Posted March 29 Posted March 29 RideWithStyles suggested fuel filter - have you tried replacing that? And when you say that the pump works fine, how do you know? Have you tested the fuel pressure? Final suggestion for now, it's worth researching to see exactly what the sensor does that causes that 'fuel pump issue' code. Is it a pressure test? Or perhaps an electrical continuity issue? It always helps to understand the actual thing that the relevant sensor is measuring. 1 Quote
