Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Regardless of any other options you may consider - If you had £5.5k to spend on a new bike, which would you go for.I have had so much advice and I know its down to personal choice but just generally interested from the more experienced rider's point of view. Korben Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 For those interested in the looksApriliahttp://www.motorcycledaily.com/111506_aprilia_shiver.jpgKawasaki Z750http://www.parts-world.ch/Kawasaki-Z750_800-tot.jpgFor me the Aprilia.... Great looking bike mate. Both of them are to be honest. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Ok - the problem I have is that I ordered a Shiver yesterday and I have to say I love it. However, Today I went and looked at the Z750 and I love that too. I have been offered a far better deal on the Z750 than I had on the Shiver and I am in complete turmoil.I could cancel the Shiver and loose my couple of hundred quid deposit or and go for the Z750 and get a better deal over 2 years.I'm stuffed really - I have looked at loads of bikes and these are the only two I am considering. I have to make a decision tonight because the order has to be done in the morning otherwise I loose out on a fantastic deal. Quote
TomW Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 only you can decide which one you want mate! Quote
Korben Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Go to your Aprilia dealer, tell him you are thinking about pulling out and losing your deposit as you will save more money on the deal from Kawasaki in the long run and suggest he could keep you as a customer if he offered you the same deal. With the current financial situation the country is in, it's a buyers market mate!!!! Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks for the few replies at the moment. I have to say I think I did the reight thing but when your new at this and a little bit of doubt comes into your head...it grows and grows.I know its my choice at the end of the day but I really appreciate the comments so keep them coming. Fozzie Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Either that or you could ride both and decide which one you like better. Personally I think the Aprilia will be more reliable but the kawasaki will be more fun. I personally love the kawasaki though I have to say the Aprilia would be the one I'd go for. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 There is no such thing THE perfect bike - there are MANY perfect bikes depending on how you feel when you're shopping for a ride. There's loads of time for you to own plenty of different marques on your own personal quest for perfection. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I have tried both - thats the problem - they are both great and have a couple of niggles but I really can't fault either! Quote
Fozzie Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Maybe you should buy both That would be incredibly cooooool. I can only dream of doing something like that. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 May I suggest.... eeeenie meeeanie myneee mo I voted for the kwak... cos i it looks better, poss cheaper to repair, easier to get parts??Nice choice to have to make really! Quote
techno Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 As vicki says the kwak seems he more sensible choice!Get the shiver! Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Funny sort of picture forming here..............................keep 'em coming! Quote
cruz Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Sure the Kawa is probably more reliable and the sensible bike to get.Go for the Aprilia, if we all took the sensible route we'll all be in cages. Quote
jabcrosshook Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Go aprilia, it's a much better looking bike. Quote
Fozzie Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Go aprilia, it's a much better looking bike. I have to disagree. The kawasaki looks MAZING, its more sporty which is probably why I love the look of it. The shiver is probably heavier. This is aprilia. Their bigger bikes tend to weigh a million tonnes more than its rivals. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 what were the vibes like on the kwak?? did you find it a bit of a buzz bomb? Both look fun bikes but I'd think the Aprillia's motor would have tons more character in the long run. Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Get the Honda Thanks Hoody - sensible reply as usual! The Kawa felt a bit sportier and made me want to get my head down and blat it (if I actually was allowed to take it out of the test circut - which I was not). The Aprilia ...well felt a bit more edgy....compact.... what am I doing???? minds made up - Im sticking with my first choice and staying with the Aprilia. Tar for the input! Quote
jabcrosshook Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Good choice, plus I've seen plenty of kwaks on the road, but yet to see an aprilia. Quote
Steve365 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 With someone else's money - the AprilliaWith my money - the kwak Quote
