For summer riding, want something cheap that offers support for ankles etc

They'd look good with the jacket.

The most important thing however, as always, is the fit.

Different manufacturers use different shaped lasts and they might get uncomfortable after a long day on the bike.

But I wont know that 'til I try them for long journey will I?

I guess for £35 I could buy, and if not flog on ebay again ... ??

Yeah - why not it's worth a try, but have a look around some of the end of season sales - I believe J&S have got a sale on at the moment.

got a couple of mates who wear them to race pitbikes and they seem to do the job, (and they fall off... ALOT!)
