Guest Posted July 31, 2007 Share Posted July 31, 2007 can anyone tell me if i can set the gap on iridium plugs myself I sent this email to NGK and they are not answering the question i asked Hi can you confirm that if i ask a dealer for bike specific Iridium plugsthen the plug gap would be preset to the manufactures recommendations or doi have to set the gap myselfthe reason for asking is i have a Yamaha XJR1300 and orderded DPR8EIX-9plugs which should have a gap of 0.9mm the ones i got have a lot bigger gapthan thisregardsGary and recieved this reply back Dear SirThank you for your enquiry.The spark plug gap for your vehicle is pre-set to 0.9mm. These plugs are good and should not give you any problems...I have to say everytime I fitted these plugs the gap was correct from the box...
