MonkeyKnuckle Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I LOVE the mohawk You're one of the few that do. (As shown by the above two people)I've found that most girls like it and hardly any blokes do. I couldn't care less about the blokes not liking it. I just like to have a bit of a laugh on ride outs and always get waves from kids/familys etc. Also had my picture taken by people in cars before. Quote

Lol, oh I love mohawks anyway and whenever I see someone with one of those mohawk thingys that you've got my mouths open for about 5 minutes and I seem to say 'WOW!' everytime! Haha, it's rather odd! Yeah I bet kids love it! Quote
mojobanana Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 My lid...I'm so lazy. It's sat on the cupboard next to me and I have a camera at my disposal, but google's just tooooooo easy...EDIT: I haven't got a black visor, it's clear... just reminded myself to look in the accessories bit to see where to get me a black or iridium visor Quote

Gem Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 EDIT: I haven't got a black visor, it's clear... just reminded myself to look in the accessories bit to see where to get me a black or iridium visor Is it legal to have a black or iridium visor? Just wondering because I swear someone told me they had to be clear. I'd really love an iridium one though Quote
Pete Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 (edited) No you can have whatever colour you like so long as it lets in at least 50% light and is only used in daylight. Now go and get that iridium one (but remember to change it to the clear one at night)!Your Caberg V2 has the internal visor which works on the same idea Edited May 1, 2009 by Pete Quote
Korben Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 All you need to know here Gem.. • Tinted visors, if used during daylight hours, advice only, if used during the hours of darkness or conditions of reduced visibility consider prosecution using ‘Tintman’ equipment where available. It is acknowledged that there is much debate about this issue and many variables and anomalies can be applied. Therefore a pragmatic approach is necessary and only in cases where there is an obvious danger should prosecution be considered. The above are Guidelines taken from:Association of Chief Police Officer of England,Wales & Northern IrelandMotorcycle Enforcement Strategy For England, Wales & Northern IrelandThis document was up for review in Jan 2008.Available to look at in full (quite interesting really) at..http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.p ... opic=25142 Basically, yes they are pretty much illegal if they don't let enough light in, but if you wear an illegal one and get stopped be nice to mister Police Office, always carry a clear one and don't get caught doing anything really stupid while out on the bike and you will be ok 99% of the time. Gem Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Thank you!!! Now I'm off to look for an iridium one watch me not be able to find one for my Caberg V2R now Quote
Pete Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Here's an internal one...http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/prod ... umber=1575I wonder if they do the external one as well. Thinking about it maybe it'll be harder to find an external one because they might just think "well there's one on the inside, why'd you need two?"...but that won't stop me looking Quote

Stephen Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 so how can u guess at how much light is coming through? and i recently saw a fog city attachment for a lid with pinlock capabilities that gets darker in the sun but is clear in the dark. anyone else seen/heard about it? Quote
j4ff Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I use Hyperoptics not as effective as a tinted visor.Takes the glare away but can sometimes look a bit hazy when they get older, mines been in a year.Got to be carefull when you clean them to avoid scratches.Dont rinse under the tap even tough they are glued in,water gets between.Youll end up using the missus hair dryer for an hour bending the visor trying the dry it out i did. Bit difficult for the average joe.... You will find (Normally in the small print) if a visor is road legal or not... If not sure ask the dealer. Quote

Some of the tinted, coloured and reflective motorcycle helmet visors that Shop Offshore Ltd. sell are not BSI or EC05 approved and are intended for off-road or track use only. It is your responsibility to check with your local authorities the legality of the visors in your area. Use of these visors on the road is legal in Guernsey but not in the UK. Shop Offshore Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any prosecution that arises from the use of these visors in the UK.Tinted or coloured visors should not be used at night or in poor weather conditions. It is recommended that you carry a clear visor with you at all times. The ones which are legal have a very light tint to them... hardly anything at all, but ive been told they offer some shade. Quote

Yeah, I have a legal tinted visor, but to be honest it's not brilliant... Still find I struggle with the sun in my eyes... Have not used it since I got my mirrored visor... Quote
techno Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I rode with my tinted visor home today almost arriving at sundown, its not road legal apparantly but i can see more through it until it actually gets dark than I could through a clear one at night! But I needed it as am riding directly into a setting sun, so road legal or not its safer!
