Hey all

As some of you are aware, following my accident last week I managed to get out today with Carlos Von Brum to Hein Gericke to replace all my gear. Had a good day with the guys at the B'ham store and managed to sort everything out. This is what I went for in the end

Boots - used to have Alpinestars SMX4 but they're not available anymore so tried SMX5 but they're a lot narrower cut. Tried quite a few on and ended up getting some Arlen Ness boots... look a bit racey, but all black and extremely comfortable:

Gloves - had Dainese Hellracers and decided to get the Alpinestars 365GTX - again, extremely comfortable and all-year gloves:

Back protector - did have Knox Contour, and decided this time to go for Aegis system - again really comfortable (actually slightly more so than the contour if I'm honest) and they fit extremely well under my gear:

Lid - had the Arai Astro-R in silver previously, no longer available, so went for the Viper GT in Banda (also sorted myself out with a new hyper optics insert and breath deflector):

Jacket/pants - tried loads on, ummed and arred for ages... decided to go for the Master suit... amazing quality, cut, fit and protection... amazing:

All in all extremely happy with the purchases... such a good day after such a sh*t week!

So hire bike is being delivered tomorrow so depending on shoulder may go out for a pootle.

Cheers,

Rick.

Yeah its all good, well chuffed with everything.

The lid arrives end of next week and also because my jacket was different size to the pants I'm having a new interfacing zip made... oh and the same thing sewn to the bib depending on whether I'm wearing it (although hopefully won't use this until the winter, but with our summers you never know!).

Thats a nice looking lid - i love Arai's.

The master combo was bombproof when i worked at Hein Gericke a few years back, never bothered with it myslf though - i went with the Toureg kit instead.

If you do go for a pootle take it easy, you had quiet a knock enjoy but dont aggrevate your shoulder or you will have to wait even longer for that ride :D

I took advantage of Hein Gericke's 20% off everything offer, so everything was quite a bit cheaper than the website suggests (offer ends Monday). The only gear that is still more expensive that what I originally had, after discount, is the textiles, but not by a huge amount (maybe £80 per piece). Everything else is +/- £10.

I'll send all the information to my solicitors and then they will sort it out, if the other insurance company won't pay for the whole lot but pay prices more like the jacket and pants I originally had thats fine, I don't mind being a little out of pockets for such good clothing.
