  1. It was doing it on my full return from work mate. Around 8-10 miles on motorway. (It has been pissing down with rain all day though. Was dry going to work)
  2. When i checked the dip stick it was sitting just below the lower line (bike was on side stand as no centre stand) so topped it up with the 3/4 of a litre i had left in the bottle. There is no change in the ride of the bike and all feels well with it just the smoke caught my eye. Its not thick smoke the leaves a trail down the street but seemed enough for me to notice it. Bike is still idling fine aswell.
  3. So i topped up my oil this morning on the old CBR600 and noticed on the way 'home' from work that it seems to be blowing white smoke from the exhaust. I never noticed it on the way to work. Have i possibly put too much oil in or do i have a bigger problem? Please say its not gonna cost me a fortune lol
  4. When i accelerated today in 2nd gear it definitely feels like the back wheel is slipping and losing traction. Could feel it slipping out slightly at the rear end when going in a straight line then after the 7k rpm it grips fine again
  5. 2nd and 3rd mate aleays round about the same rev range. Only when hard accelerating. If running up the revs slowly it seems to be fine
  6. Tried accelerating today with choke but made no difference. Tried it at quarter, and half. Still doing the same at the same revs
  7. Air filter is just a standard filter not K&N. As far as im aware the bike is totally standard. Jets have never been touched by me. Ive had the bike around 18-19 months and the problem started a few months ago.
  8. I actually forgot all about it but ill do it tomorrow and post what difference it makes
  9. So today ive narrowed the problem down to the back wheel losing traction at said rpm. Came off the main road, turned left on motorway sliproad and accelerated in 2nd gear. Got up to 6k rpm then back wheel felt like it slipped to the side a bit. Noticed my chain has a small kink in 1 of the links. I must've misses it when i checked last time. Could this be problem
  10. Soon as the rain stops pissing down and wind lets up ill give it a try
  11. How much choke would you say stu? Quarter, half, less?
  12. Jets needing cleaned? Is timing easy enough to check?
  13. Just remembered i had posted this threat. So chain and sprockets are fine. The problem is still there, If I accelerate hard through 1st, all is fine. 2nd gear, accelerate hard slightly bogs just before 6k rpm and seems to cough/splutter between 6-7k rpm then smooth again 8k rpm upwards. 3rd gear does same as 2nd. 4th, 5th & 6th gear all smooth. Could this be a fuelling / carb issue? Its really annoying me especially if i go to make an overtake. Only happens in 2nd & 3rd gear. Pulling my hair out with it.
  14. Was gonna do this with my chain as i have a kinked link but overall chain and sprockets are in good condition. Unfortunately i have no idea what chain is on the bike as it was on it when i bought it lol
  15. Cool. Recommend anywhere in scotland that could make a link pipe?
  16. Wee quick question here. Ive got a 92 CBR600f sitting standard. Been offered an end can for nothing. Its a micron can but its off a 600 fazer. Its has link pipe attached. Question is, will it fit or not? Thanks
  17. As i say the noise seemed to have gone away for the past year now its just came back again so CCT was only bought and replaced at the start of last year so pretty sure that would be updated if the bike is a 92 plate. Heard CBR600's of old were famous for bad CCT.
  18. Ive saw the ape manual ones but heard they are murder to get adjusted correctly. Ill take mine out and inspect it and give it a clean up 1st to see how it goes.
  19. Just an auto 1 i think it was. Got it from David Silver.
  20. Hello folks Looking fo a wee bit of help here. Got a rattle coming from the right hand side of my engine. Sounds like the CCT. However i had this rattle last year and replaced the CCT with a brand new 1. The noise was gone. Now ive just been out on the bike today for a while and its back again. Surely the CCT isn't gone already? Could it possibly be needing a cam chain? The bike is a 92' CBR600f Thanks
  21. Well since i was off work for the past week i decided on a wee ride-out on my own and discovered a new route that ive never taken before and absolutley loved it. http://i61.tinypic.com/faq6a.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/2cy1l6o.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/156pd1z.jpg
  22. Sprocket looks ok mate. Might try giving the chain a wee tighten up.
  23. How do you even get in? I want in aswell now
  24. Looking for a wee bit of help here guys and girls. Got a 92 cbr600f and recently when i accelerate hard in 2nd gear, around 6-7k rpm its like the bike bogs down a wee bit then feels like back wheel is jerking or losing traction then has full power and goes fine through all the gears. It only happens in 2nd and only between 6-7k rpm.
