THE TRIUMPH 400X IS NOW ON SALE, DOES ANYONE HAVE ONE YET, HAVE YOU ANY NEGATIVE THOUGHTS ON THE BIKE, KEEP READING ON THE INDIAN OWNER'S FORUMS ABOUT THE ENGINE CUTTING OUT WHEN IT'S RAINING, IT RAINS HERE BUT NOT MONSOON STANDARDS, WHEN AN INDIAN GUY SAYS HE TOOK THE BIKE OUT IN THE RAIN HE MEANS THE ROADS WERE UNDER 3 FOOT OF WATER AND NOT LIKE WHEN SOMEONE IN THE UK SAYS HE TOOK IT OUT WHEN IT WAS RAINING AND THERE WERE PUDDLES ON THE CAMBERS, NOT THAT INCLEMENT WEATHER DETURS THE INDIAN MOTORCYCLISTS THEY JUST PUT A BIN BAG ON AND GO, PROPER BLOKES, RESPECT TO ANYONE RIDING IN MONSOON,
  2. me and my two brothers must have had 20 new bikes from Kens, my first on-the-road after a few off road bikes at 17 was a Suzuki TS100 for £399 from Kens in 1976, Mick Ken's son-in-law was the main salesman then Jim joined the team after marrying into the family, Ken's workshop at the top of the street for rebores etc, I never thought it would ever close down, it's a furniture showroom now I think I can't look to find out for sure, Harry Woods down the street and the cafe near the post office, Saturday mornings I've seen maybe 300 bikes during the summer, wheelies up the hill and crowds cheering and the occasional BANG as someone hits a car, mass ride offs to Tranwell woods near Morpeth for drag racing, Police turning up and checking frame numbers while scraping the paint off frames to see them clearly (so they said) its heyday was the time of RD's GT's KH's & CB's the blue haze hung in the air all day and the smell was adictive as you sat on the wall at bikesport eating your fish and chips watching the free show, nowhere like it back in the 1970s,
  3. be a shame to paint that exhaust system, how about a high-temperature clear coat after it has been on the polishing wheel, all them rattle can high-temperature paints burn off the headers, especially on hot 2T engines,
  4. if they are LED indicators you need to fit resistors inline to the positive feed to the indicator not the earth wire, this stops overload, as the bike has a 12 volt system and sends a certain amount of current to the indicator as its LED it uses far less than is being sent which results in an overload, this will cause it to flash far too fast or be constantly on, many LED replacement indicators have resistors built into them but the cheap Chinese ones don't, I fitted LED indicators to my Honda TL as one had a broken stem,after fitting the LED indicators from ebay (£12) one side worked great but on the other side one indicator was on all the time and the other one flashed far too fast, I thought I might have wired them in the worg way round, positive instead of negative etc but I hadn't so I switched back to 12 volt bulb indiactors and the problem was solved, the thougth of soldering in four resistors and weather sealing them didint appeal to me so it was back to ebay for some 12 volt bulb indicators (£25) Does anyone want four Chinese made none resistor-type indicators, free to good home l0l. . . they look great but don't work, some new bikes with LED indicators have the resistor fitted inline and some have the resistor fitted inside the indicator so fitting replacements is a bit hit and miss, two resistors can lower the current too much so the light is dim, to be honest the 12-volt bulb indicators are brighter and when they do blow if they ever do are a lot easier to change, LED bulbs get dimmer with time conventional bulbs don't,

For the guy with the small opening filler hole on his fuel tank, a converter is available, it's a plastic shroud you stick on the end of the fuel hose at the garage and it reduces the diameter so it will fit in your fuel tank, its made from a soft latex rubber that creates a seal around the fuel pump nozzle and fits in the smaller opening in your petrol tank.
