    Forks gone?

I think I dropped the frame by accident when messing around with my swing arm and loosening and tightening the triple clamp ages ago to straighten up my handle bars, after fixing them I’ve noticed the ride is so much better now and I no longer scrape lol

I can’t physically express how much you’ve just helped me, thank you so much. Your diagnosis was spot on and I’ve fixed the issue now. By any chance do you have a torque spec for the pinch bolts?

    Forks gone?

You are talking to someone who knows nothing about motorbikes and just watches videos / reads forums to fix stuff How exactly would I bring them to the right position? Loosen the 4 bolts on my triple clamp and just push them down by hand?
  4. Had my bike parked up at work, steer lock was on and bike was obviously full lock left and due to the beautiful weather of this country the bike fell to the right and now my forks have decided to ‘expand’ to the point they’re touching the handle bars, no film of oil that I can feel and the suspension feels harder I suppose? Does this mean my forks are to be replaced or can I fix this myself? For reference this is what they’re supposed to look like:
  5. I did have them but I was keeping them as a last resort, my bike is mainly plastic and the last thing I wanted to do after a crash is to ruin the bike more by cracking something
  6. Cheers for the help guys For the person reading this in 5 years time with the exact same issue, my recommendation is to go to a garage and pay someone to do this for you but if you’re in too deep this is what I did: - With a hydraulic car jack lift the left side of the swing arm and insert the bolt, this part should be semi easy - Knock it in until it hits the swing arm on the other side - For this part you NEED 2 people minimum, 3 if you can. For 2 people: Rest the left side of the bike diagonally against a wall so you can access the rear of the bike (Front handle bar/tyre touching the wall) - Have one person on the right side of the bike, he has to push the rear of the frame towards the wall trying to line up the swing arm - And the other person has to be on the left of the bike lifting the rear by holding the underside of the seat and pulling it up, adjust until lined up - Now when the person on the right decides its lined up, the person on the left has to smack the bolt a couple of times to get the bolt to partially go in (Do not use much force if the bolt can it will go in) - If its in, first of all hoorah, second of all you’ll now realise the left side isnt lined up and the little cylinder isnt going in - You now have to slightly lift the left swing arm with a hydraulic jack until the bolt looks straight and smack it with a hammer, adjust car jack until it works - After all the faff you should be able to put the nut on the thread and celebrate
  7. Definitely got closer with this method but its as if the swing arm is too short and can’t move horizontally enough to line up, I’ve angled the bike as straight as I can before it falls and I can’t even get a 3/8th extension in there
  8. Anyone got a clue on how to lift the other side of the swing arm to line it up and be able to get a bolt through it? I’ve got a broken finger and hydraulic jack at my disposal
  9. I think this is the most useful reply I’ve ever received on a forum, thank you so much I’ll give this another attempt now!
  10. Dont worry I know its been on its way out for a while, just been putting it off as I hate working on bikes outside
  11. Anyone got a clue how to remove this nut(?) Just keeps spinning, hoping no one tells me its on a left hand thread bolt Its a 2018 Honda CB125R
  12. Thanks for the reply, saves me a worry about the indicator Its not filler nor mud lol, the bike is just heavily scratched now and thats the aftermath of contact with the pavement And yes I tried bending both the rod / lever and the bracket, no give from the bracket but the rod snapped before even considering to move so safe to say I’m buying new everything
  13. Dropped me bike and the main things that got damaged are the clutch lever, gear lever and linkage and rear indicator In terms of the clutch lever, does this look useable for the time being? In terms of the indicator, where is the best place to buy one from and are these going to be plug and play or am I going to have to crimp some wires? I’m not really sure how to even remove it And is this all I need to buy to replace the gear linkage / lever? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174065419841?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=V_qxYwv3Tam&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=VRbZHOejSF2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Do tell if there’s anything I should know before attempting repairs, thanks for reading.
