  1. Cheers for the reply :)

I'm having a look at your uploaded guide now (thanks).

It states that it should have 10-15mm of play. Where is this measured? end of the clutch bar, or near the inside (pivot area?).

    I'm not sure.

    thanks.

  2. Suzuki GSX750F

It doesn't seem to slip out of gear (I dont think) more of it will slip (rev really high and go nowhere) and then when I let off the throttle a little I and apply it slowly again I get the 'Grab' back).

  3. Hi, well..

I noticed that my bike would now and then slip the clutch when going into the high rpm's. However after my oil change and riding it again, it seems to slip even sooner, about always in the 7000 rpm's. The clutch is a wet clutch..

I'm guessing this is not normal? how can this be fixed, can it be diy'd? Thanks.

Oh, and what would something like this cost to do?

  4. /PHEW

It turns out my caps were the wrong way around! oooops!

I feel like a bloody donut now.

    It should of been:

    Left - 1-4

    Right - 2-3

Thanks Walney for the fast replies and helping me out, really appreciate it!!

  5. The plugs I used a T Wrench to place them in, and they went in well. (I tightened them by hand, but not over-tight). The caps are all seated properly also. (The sparkplugs also give good sparks (I tested this))

  6. Just to make sure I get this right:

I connected a pipe (vacuum line?) From the Carb to the rear of the stock cock, a drain pipe to the centre of the petrol tank. Then Fuel line to side of stop cock.

Do I have to do anything special via the On - Prime etc? (on the stop cock)

  7. Hey,

My bike was running fine (GSX750F). Today I started to give it a service (Change oil/ oil filter and spark plugs).

    here is what I did:

    Took all fairings off

    Took Petrol Tank off

    Changed spark plugs

    Drained oil

    Removed oil filter

    replaced oil filter

    filled up with oil

    Put petrol tank back on

Start the bike on full throttle (It starts but sounds like it is running normal.. lowish rev's when usually the rev's fly up with the choke on)

When I turn the choke off, it backfires and stalls.

    Any advise? :S Thanks.

  8. yes you can.

The manual specifies the lowest RON Rating for a fuel (RON is an indication of a fuels resitance to pre-ignition, i.e. ignighting during the compression stroke of an engine before being triggered by the spark). Therfore any fuel of higher RON rating will be safe.

If you were to run a lower RON rated fuel you may get pre-ignition or 'pinking' (old fuels 2,3,4 star etc used have RON ratings of 85 and above).

Do a search on here for fuel, or search my posts for fuel and you will soon come up with some good gen!

Thanks! I will do a search, much appreciated!!

  9. I read in my service manual that 95 Ron and above is to be used for my Suzuki GSX750F - However, Im such a fussy one that I dont want to put it in until I ask here! lol!

Would it be okay to run my bike on 98 Ron or similar fuel? As I want to run it once or twice in a blue moon as I heard it have added cleaning additives

    Thanks :)

  10. no worries,

but whilst you have the spray etc think what else could do with attention, don't just oil/grease from a list...

Yeah I'd love to do everything which is possible.. I just hope I dont end up going crazy lubricating things which do not need lubricating... trust me to lubricate the kill switch button lol! ;)

Basically, lubricate any metal on metal objects which move?

Also, I'm sure you would know. Are the clutch and throttle cables on the GSX750F teflon skinned or not?

    Cheers.

  11. I will pop in tomorrow and pick a can up :). So, if WD40 is not a good idea.. what should I use to lube the Clutch cable etc?

P.S - Should I lube wires then..? WD40 is no good for this, what would work? - The grease aswell?

    Cheers.

  12. How do those cable oilers work?

I will be doing all the other cables too. I just mentioned the Clutch cable as an example :)

The 'Super Grease' is said to be used on the following:

    Clutch Lever Holder

    Side-stand pivot and spring hook

Gearshift lever pivot and footrest pivot

    Center-stand pivot and spring hook

    Brake lever holder

Brake pedal pivot and foot-rest pivot

and 'Oil' (Use engine oil less stated otherwise) for the following:

    Clutch Cable

    Throttle Cables

What would you suggest to use for what components? (I have a few cans of WD-40 if that is useful?).

P.S - anything else which the manual doesn't mention and I should do?

    Cheers :)

  13. I am going to service my bike shortly. I am going to do the following: Oil change, Oil filter change, Spark plug's changed and air filter cleaned.

Firstly, in my 'Service' manual it states I need to Apply 'Suzuki Super Grease "A"' (99000-25010). What on earth is this? lol. Is there any alternative to the super duper grease? :)

    Thanks.

P.S - How do I apply 'Oil' as the book states to the Clutch Cable? drop a tad down the sleeve?

  14. That was the problem Walney! Had a look at it today, took it apart and inspected it. Put it back together and gave the bolt which holds the clutch in a little bit of elbow grease and that was the trick! That bolt seemed to be a little loose and not make full contact with the switch. :)

    Thanks!

  15. Didn't expect you to put pictures up! that's excellent of you though, thank you very much. The picture quality shows exactly what I need to look for anyway, so I will be doing that tomorrow.

    Again, thank you :)

  16. Thanks for the response guys.

Walney, where can I find the clutch safety switch? where is it located roughly? or look like?

    Thanks!

p.s - If you don't know, I have a manual around somewhere, i'll dig it out and take a look!

    Thanks again guys.

  17. Hi,

The bike in question is a Suzuki GSX 750 F.

When I press the electric start, sometimes (90% of the time) nothing happens.. well.. not until I start giving the bike a nudge while im' on it, pressing the button.

What could this be? what should I check?

    Thanks.

  18. Hi,

I recently noticed my bike was making odd noises when I was coming to a stop while braking. It feels like it is grinding and I can feel it throug the brake lever, I think it may just be the pads becoming worn down (as they are very worn and need replacing soon) would this should about right?

Also, due to the noise it made my more prone to looking at things on the bike, and as I was riding I noticed when I turn the handle bars that the suspension moves slightly at the top end. i.e. the top of the suspension that you can see through the yoke (i think its called that) I can see it move sightly in there when I full lock etc.. The gaps become bigger/smaller at either side. Is this normal? if not, what the hell could cause it? I checked the pinch bolts and they seem tight..

    Thank you! :)
