    fairing repairs

Well I'm determined to get some more miles under my belt this year seemed to barely use her last summer. Going to get a touring screen as well, did you find the wind noise bad or is it just me? Discovering where triumph world was today (not far!) was not good. Almost left with a trophy a 675 and a ducatti 749 that was in there

    fairing repairs

Well i think one might be related to me introducing the bike to the grass when coming off the centre stand oh well will leave them alone then If more hassle than its worth Figured out why the grips weren't working, appears a bit was missing off the switch to turn it on. Ordered a bit off triumph to fix. Hands aren't cold I just can't put it back now I know it's fixable! Also thank god I could orider a new switch instead of the whole kit.

    fairing repairs

Hi All Servicing the bike today and generally going over everything, wow triumph did not make this easy. Maybe I was just spoilt with the naked yamaha so i am not used to all the plastic on a faired bike! Anyway, a couple of the screw holes on the fairing are buggered, one is worse than the other. Does anyone have suggestions for a repair method? These arent critical, I've been riding around on it fine, its just now I have it in bits I figured I fix all the odd jobs i've been putting off. Dont want to do anything too pricey, otherwise they can just go back on the way it was!
  4. Congratulations onwards and upwards now!
  5. Congratulations! Ride safe tomorrow
  6. Well those of us a bit older went straight to big bikes and we're ok. I hated the 125 as felt so vulnerable. At the end of the day, it's your hand on the throttle, just because it's a fast bike doesn't mean you need to be silly with it. If you feel happy then go have a crack. If you're that worried just book a half day or full day to get started and see if you have any problems
  7. congrats! onwards and upwards!
  8. Evening all I require a loft ladder. I am tight, and therefore do not want to spend hundreds (or a single hundred) getting someone to fit one. I was going to pop down to b&q one day for a look, then shock horror I'm in aldi and they're advertising THEY have ladders next week! What are the odds. Aldi must be checking my Google search history. Won't be long before they sell triumphs and bmw k1300's. Anyway back on topic, has anyone tried the aldi loft ladders? Generally the gear from there seems pretty well built. I did a google but I've not come across a proper review so far. Plus I trust you guys more
  9. You'll get there. It's just nerves! As above really just do one step at a time and try to stay calm. Imagine the instructor doing the funky chicken or something and look where you want to go, don't look at the inspector (except on the emergency stop!). Good luck it'll be all the sweeter when you do pass
  10. Looks noisy
  11. Correct! DHL have had such a problem they now have posters around their offices specifically warning of this scam. Although most of our vehicles have taken to fitting cameras. What annoys me is people who flash but if they'd checked behind the road was totally clear after them so it'd have been easier for them to just go past! I never flash on the bike as no one seems to notice
  12. sounds good if you remind me nearer the time! I've always got time for the air ambulance. Sky 1 tonight have air ambulance show, just watching them land at a racing circuit in Cumbria to tend to a rider who hit a fence then hit a wall at 80mph.
  13. I got the bluetooth headsets you lot were discussing a while back Now I think I need a splitter for my phone to both listen to music and to figure out if we can sync to phone and have an intercom simultaneously
  14. Beautiful baby! Hope all works out over the next year
  15. Thats a cracking deal. I'm trying to stay away for fear of breaking my bank account in one trip Can we get hold of the servicing parts? I was going to just order off wemoto but might have a nosey at Halfords prices instead
  16. If not, natural selection will remove them from the gene pool in the near future
  17. Quite a few were either the biker being a tool, or just a normal corner and I'm not quite sure how they came off!
  18. Jeez for 60 quid I might buy a second one lol
  19. Manual handling is all in the technique, get the bike upright properly and it'll be fine. You can take as long as you need. The tarmac is very grippy on the test centres all you can do is open the throttle when you come off the corner. It's not hard to do but you do have to give a bit of welly
  20. 5 hours to get to work today f**k it. Tried to get to rugby and the m6 closed in not one but two different places! Decided to go to derbyshire depot instead but was equally awkward. Left home just after 6am arrived 12. f**k it.
  21. Latex gloves under normal ones? Not the best but cheap and waterproof and good as a 'just in case'
  22. There's loads. I have a golf windproof t shirt that's pretty good on top of a compression layer, really is windproof! The merino wool thermals were pretty expensive by comparison I think 16 pound each (top and bottoms seperate). Compression gear is good and although they do 'motorbike' gear, the golf, cycling and running stuff is all pretty much identical anyway so I just mix and match if it looks good or is reduced!
  23. Might give them a go! I love my Aldi ones - some motorbike specific, some general compression and wind breaker. Trouble is the nice ones are hand wash only, which is FAR too much hassle
  24. It'd make it difficult to look you both in the eye at the rally ha
  25. Do you think it'd work? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=613959782033559&fref=nf Warning does have some graphic images
