  1. Didn't see your post, it's a stator by the way I assume as all but one wire from it go to the CDI it produces electric for the spark?
  2. Hi guys several cuts, bruises and a cr*p load of swear words later I got it off and the crankcase dropped apart and everything fell everywhere I'm severely p*ssed off and should have read the manual first about telling me to take the flywheel off first then the cogs around the side.. God damn my ignorance... After about an hour of scanning the room I found everything... I've put them all in a bowl and going to do it tomorrow after I've calmed down and had a good sleep P:S the piston has destroyed itself again but this time to a whole new level I'll upload it to my 'Peugeot XR6 Restoration...' thread tomorrow... Thanks a lot guys Top Tip: Best to do it following the manual and with proper tools =p Learned the hard way
  3. Hi guys, I know I constantly harp on about random cr*p but I need help again; I've taken everything from the right side of the engine off and all the bolts but my crankcase still wont open! It's starting to bug me and I know I've left something stupid out http://imageshack.us/a/img29/3742/imageiiiv.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img560/4929/imagejwv.jpg
  4. Yayy, new parts Still waiting on my adjustable pin wrench though http://imageshack.us/a/img96/4868/imagetbg.th.jpg
  5. Right well, I took all them cigs out quite easily and quickly but does the flywheel have to be out before I open the crank case? http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3742/imageiiiv.jpg http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/4929/imagejwv.jpg
  6. Nipped to halfords and bought a complete set of spanners and other tools to help me with my engine rebuild really don't want to mess it up Only 50 quid a set so not exactly teng tools or snap on but they'll do the job
  7. Haha, it's not as much the grease its more the damp garage as it seems to be colder in the garage than outside electricals don't like being damp Yeah, every time I go on ebay there is a new part I need for my bike to make it that little bit smarter but it's only a 50cc and don't particularly want to be spending an absolute fortune on it as much as I'd like too as I have my 125cc bike in 2 months to buy
  8. Just bought; Dashboard Fairing Panel - Old one cracked when I 'accidently' threw it over in anger Front fairing - Old one cracked, same story Full Gasket Set - Rebuilding engine New Battery - Absolutely dead, left ignition on and wont charge New starter motor - Old one screeched when trying to start And an adjustable pin wrench Should start to see a lot of progress in the next week
  9. Also, when i twist the nut the whole thing turns around is there a tool I can buy to stop this happening?
  10. Thanks a lot I thought it had bent not on purpose this is good to hear
  11. I have a gaming desktop PC so I don't really want that to be left in my garage, appreciate the idea though, the printed off booklet will be fine
  12. Got them all printed off, need to have a rag handy to clean my hands before i flick through them starting to get dirty =p I had a go at take the right side of the case off today; http://imageshack.us/a/img20/921/imagewrb.th.jpg Should've bled it first Also I tried to take this nut off I'm assuming it's the crankshaft seal but it looks bent? http://imageshack.us/a/img138/4254/imagefno.th.jpg Is that normal or should I buy new ones?
  13. Way ahead of you guys got a folder on my computer full of pictures and what goes where and different things laid out on tables in the order they go in

  15. Yes, that's mainly the point but I don't particularly want to put the gearbox in backwards or get the timing wrong etc there's loads of things that can go wrong, I'm going to get all the necessary tools I need before I start it =)
  16. Hi guys I know the majority of you aren't interested in seeing my thread at the top all the time and thinking to your selves 'waste of money, time and effort' get a bigger bike if that's the case please pass on by Back to the topic in hand, I've been told the bike frame has been primed and is going to start painting on Monday. The main question is would you suggest me paying ridiculous rates on getting the engine fully rebuilt and cleaned or would you suggest me attempting to completely rebuild the thing myself? Opinions appreciated and I like both types of feedback so I know what I can do better in the future.
  17. Hi guys I need to clean up various parts off the bike to make them shiny and look nearly brand new such as the engine and plastic alloys I've been told use Metal alloy cleaner can anyone recommend a good brand of the stuff and where to get it?
  18. Yeah, yours looks a lot more complicated than mine I'll be definitely keeping up with it seems interesting =) This is my thread; http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 87&t=47222
  19. I'd go along with that, I started a project 4 years ago, only been able to work on it for about 3 months of that time due to tons of c&%p piled in my garage by 'children' for the past 3.5 years. Now got it cleared and I realise what a monster of a job I've got. Same reason, wanted to learn how they go together and get knowledgeable on the mechanics of a bike but this is a nightmare! Wish I'd gone for something that only needed a little work. Hi, I've decided on restoring my Peugeot XR6 not to big of a job mainly cosmetic but I've got someone with experience helping me complete it now so it's not to bad I'm hoping if this project goes well I can do it again sometime in the foreseeable future I wish you the best of luck though on your project =D
  20. Yes that is separate all the frame breaks down into pieces which really frustrated me, that has been taken off since that picture as the spray painter guy told me too as well =)
  21. http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3165/imagekrvv.jpg Yay! I can't tell you the stress u went through to get that out! Been busy today the frame has been completely stripped and is being sprayed on Friday!
  22. I've got a mate who's mate is spraying the frame, he does it to a near pro level he is trying to start his business up I've seen his work and it's pretty suburb and is charging 70 quid does that sound about right?
  23. Slight problem; Bike has been take apart ;D
  24. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-XR6-5 ... 20cbfa4a2d The bolts look like that in the picture of that ebay page... =p
  25. That's the new one http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/5316/imagewidh.jpg The other ones; http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/3241/21292886.png Excuse my drawing =D Yeah, but the state of it from the top pictures was disgraceful
