  1. Came today, but it's not like rest it's just a nut not like the other which are nuts with like rubber tops everything else is right though, would it matter not having the rubber tops? If I send it back they will charge 4.00 P&P and charge 20% inconvenience fee.. Which would make it 13.06 for four washers and a nut -_- Rip off merchants =p
  2. I'll clean them all up tomorrow, you've been a great help to all my questions so far greatly appreciated =)
  3. Called into work so didn't get much done http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9882/imagekgv.jpg Also are these forks alright or will they need to be re sealed? http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/2676/imageqlaa.jpg
  4. Hello, well after hours if searching through ebay, biketrader, guntree etc I couldn't find a cheap restoration to hopefully learn the basics on so I've decided to restore my peugeot XR6 yes I know it's not a classic yardy yardy ya and I won't make any money on it *yawn* but it's more of a learning curve this is the little honey It's not in the front room or anything it's in my den sort of thing where I go chill with my mates etc http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/1227/imagedgcu.jpg http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/15/imagezaqg.jpg Any help and advice on how to start it or paint ideas or anything I could find helpful? I've printed if the engine manual (minarelli am6) and the peugeot XR6 owners manual:) Thanks all:)
  5. Hi, thanks for the tip =) I will upload some pictures of my current bike and if you'd could be so kind as to whether you reckon it's worth fixing up or selling as it is =D
  6. Hi I'm not sure if this is the right section or not but I'm looking for some sort of non running motorbike which would be ideal for me to learn how they work and hopefully restore it? I'm hoping to do it since I'm no longer in college and need some sort of project I can spend my work wage on and get that feeling of bringing a bike back to life =D I'm not looking for any hard projects just simple bikes would be good to learn on, if any of you have any in the North West region that'd be good, or just general ideas on what bikes I should look out for? I own a Peugeot XR6 which is in really bad shape but as I've already wasted a lot on the bike a I don't particularly wont to restore but probably will as a last resort! I can upload pictures of it if you want to see a pretty bashed up little bike! (although some of you may get shocked on how I got it to that stage!) Thanks for your rime guys and gals! =D
  7. I'll do as you say thanks for all your help I'll not touch it till the bolts are here I hate having nothing to do though thanks all
  8. Today I put a cap off petrol in the spark plug hole and tried jump starting it and it fired straight up, then it stopped running presumably because it ran out of the fuel I put in? Why could no fuel be getting to it?
  9. They're sweet little bikes when they're running but it's really temperamental, when the cylinder was installed he did use a lot of 2 stroke both on the skirt and cylinder walls but he also put oil directly on the top of the piston head it seemed a lot to me and told me to just walk with it whilst its in gear with no ignition on, spark plug etc just to lube it up it (haha) seemed a crap load of two stroke though, could that be a cause of any problems?
  10. Yeah, I had my finger over it and it seemed dead good when I try and bump start it in first the bike damn near doesn't move as well surely that's good?
  11. Sorry Computer didn't update everyone's posts, I'll wait for them to come, they've only just been allocated -_- I'll fit them on as soon as I have them, thanks for all your help and advice =)
  12. I've looked at bottom end rebuild and what it entails and it just looks ridiculous even in something like mine, and one bearing can stop it changing gear I wouldn't know where to start and there i no step by step tutorials on my engine =/ What sorts of troubleshooting tests can I do to rule various things out?
  13. I don't think fuel is getting to it, I put a cap off fuel into the spark plug hole and it fired up, then died, plug came out blacker than black :@
  14. eastanglianbiker; The carb setting was left after it idled well at 1500 RPM so I doubt it could be that I'm not ruling it out though =/ Tango; Well them bolts and washers haven't arrived yet so It's basically running with 3 bolts and not 4 but it did work then it didn't?
  15. No all recently filled up, the spark plug comes out wet which i don't know why it isn't getting a spark as its had all new CDI, spark plug, spark plug cap etc... =(
  16. Well, it all got installed hunky dory It fired after a while of bump starting it fired and after that it ran great =D the carb setting was all wrong but they got correctly set and I drove slowly to the near garage and got an energy drink, BAM started again! then I go home put it in the garage come back to it later yay started but half way down the road it stalled and wouldn't start and still wont!
  17. That thing was apparently an exhaust adapter and if you wanted to put a bigger exhaust in then you'd take it out and for the smaller exhaust IE, mine you'd put it in.. And as I'm stupid I left it at home thinking it wasn't needed and just some crap, turns out it's needed and if i try and start my bike without the exhaust it could cause quite a racket and the neighbors apparently would get annoyed, god damn it! Let you all know tomorrow!
  18. Well he's a family friend so he's coming in about half an hour, I'll let you all known how it went, thanks!
  19. This also came, what is it? http://imageshack.us/a/img838/3391/imageumux.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img833/2531/imagemftx.jpg

  22. Would it be the reason to all of a sudden stop working, one day driving high revs everywhere next day dead? 0.o
  23. I'll get a mechanic I know to fit it all properly, this bike is just one big money pit, can't wait to get rid of the pile of junk..
  24. No, I ordered this; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Barrel-and-Pi ... 2c69a66b1d I wouldn't spend that much on a bike that's worth diddly squat in it's condition
  25. I've ordered it and will get someone to professionally fit and let you know soon on what the outcome is! =) Thanks for your help! =)
