  1. Seems a tad fishy to me seeing as Hyosung generally imitate Suzuki designs (and it does look suspiciously like a GN125 engine), not Honda. But I'm no expert!
  2. I was getting rather carried away with sale shopping for some rather nice stuff that I probably don't need, until Crystal pointed out that none of it would protect me if I go off a cliff or under a bus which are the only real on-road dangers that my current gear doesn't allow for! The only extra bell/whistle I'm thinking about now is some extra support for my right knee because it's properly dodgy Already gave fleaBay a look and at £60, the jacket above is as good a price as most other stuff is second hand. Will give second hand a second look if I go for flashier stuff at a later date.

  4. Oh lawdy, I've started looking at things with a more flattering fit and the prices just tripled... My 2015 shopping list is already getting near the £2k mark :'(
  5. Oh wow, this dude really can't think up his own ideas It's a completely blatant (and lower quality) copy of the work of a Photographer called Seth Casteel that has been doing the rounds in the Photography world and the internet for several years now! Of course imitation in the sincerest form of flattery, and all art is theft, so can't really blame the Photographer - but it's a bit off that the Daily Fail report it like it's his grand creation, rather than the guy who popularised this sort of thing (on a much larger scale) several years earlier All that said, congratulate your dog for me! Has she got representation yet? Because I can point you towards some modeling agencies that we use at work
  6. If I ever went to some kind of BMW-only rally or meet, I'd be sorely tempted to use a Frosties box to make a squint mask for my headlight and see just how badly I alienate myself
  7. My GS is indeed one of the lesser-spotted squintless breed Leaning towards the red one. The contrast is nicer, and at £65, I can just buy a new one if it doesn't match my next bike... Just trying to choose a set of trousers to go with it. Not many of their current range have hip padding, which is a bugger.
  8. Hahahahaha, well one of the other jackets I looked at had removable sleeves, so... HAH! That's the hardest I've laughed in 2014  I'm sure their expert opinion would be that anything without a white and blue logo and less than £250 just isn't worth it... I already trust this brand, bought all my current gear from them. Already thrown more rain at the waterproofing than could reasonably be expected and tested out how it performs while skidding down the road
  9. I'm faced with a life changing decision and don't know which way I should go with it, so I'm here to ask for advice... Should my new jacket match my bike or not? I can either get it in red: Or in grey: I started out looking at the GS Dry Jacket in red because I like the styling with the red sleeves and flanks and then muted colours for the central portions... but the 670% price difference saw me go straight back to my usual supplier to see if they did something similar, and sure enough they do! The grey one uses the same styling cues but looks less awesome... but it'd be more likely to go with future bikes. I can't see myself rushing out to get another red bike. Whaddya reckon? Who else has matching gear?
  10. I hope to. I've got family and friends in Lockerbie, Skye, North Uist, Loch Lomond, and Applecross, who have all told me that I'm welcome to visit them. As long as I have a sat nav wired up to the bike in time, I'll be trying to grab every single tag along the way for the giggles.
  11. I'm disappointed... I was half expecting them all to smash into the crowd barrier on the first bend
  12. And at worst, buy a replacement set on the return trip!
  13. Awesome, I'll keep my eyes on it! One of my books has a travel journal by a guy who took a GSXR1000 across a desert after elevating the suspension and fitting knobblies... I'm sure your ER-6 could have the same makeover
  14. I go all out, that way I can get away with wearing MX gloves so I have loads of feeling for the controls and still a decent amount of armour. - Barkbusters (big ones!) - Heated grips - Silk inner gloves Oh, and one of the best things you can do is make sure your torso is kept nice and warm! You body will try to maintain core temperature, so if your torso is cold then less blood (and with it, warmth) will be directed to your extremities. Look after your core temperature and your hands and feet will do a better job of looking after themselves!
  15. Would absolutely love to do this sort of thing, sounds like my idea of heaven, but my job would limit me to two weeks at most - and I'd need to be back again for work on the 15th day If I get myself fired any time soon you'll be the first to know
  16. Im curious. Goat simulator game? Probably best not to ask
  17. All the bits I need for some very ill advised holidays next year
  18. Haynes "Adventure Motorcycle Maintenance" Haynes "Adventure Riding Techniques" DVD of "Race to Dakar" Halfords voucher Awesome haul, all the bits I was hoping for
  19. So much food... sick now... Got all of the bike themed presents I wanted though
  20. Merry Christmas one and all! Hope you all get some nice toys to play with.
  21. But Joe, Shorty, we have German bikes... surely they will run scared rather than trying to not fine us?
  22. Never trust the seller! Mine had supposedly fitted a new water pump just before I bought it, and guess what blew up a few months ago?
  23. It does look rather fun...
