Quality and biker sympathetic hotels in North Wales?
timmy164 replied to timmy164's topic in Motorbike Chat
Many thanks. I have seen that before, I’d just forgotten about it! -
Not sure if I’m posting in the correct section? Can anyone recommend a nice quality hotel that will cater for bikers in the North Wales area? Somewhere out of the way with great food etc? Preferably secure parking too. im not asking much am I! Lol. Thanks for looking.

Thanks chaps. His business is car tyres, as he says he just doesn’t make money on bike tyres anymore. I grew up with the guy so I know he’s no bullshitter. I asked him about tyres the other day, and he just mentioned that maybe I could buy them cheaper elsewhere, he’ll fit them for free. The idea of a warranty never occurred to me! Ive been riding bikes for over 40 years and never had to claim on a tyre warranty? I will take a look at where you recommend, and if I’m only saving a few quid, then I’ll get my mate to buy them anyway. I’m not fussed over £20. Cheers

I’m after a pair of new Michelin tyres for my bike. I’ve got a reliable fitter, who’s an ex bike racer, so I trust him 100% with the fitting. Im just wondering where you guys get your tyres? Ebay? Thanks
-
Well, when faced with a £200 quote for the metzelers and fitting to the bike, he’s now decided to not bother. He’s put in for his theory and intends to go for his test in a few months. Thanks for the helpful advice.
-
I would agree, only he’s spent his money now, so he’s stuck with it for a while until he can get his test passed. I just want him to be a bit safer, and tyres are probably the most important part of that.

I found some Metzelers tyres that may work? On eBay £150 a pair.

Hi there, I’ve got a mature new to biking mate who’s just passed his CBT and bought himself a 125cc just to build up some experience ready to move onto his full test early next year. He’s bought himself a brand new Keeway Superlight custom style bike, NOT what I would recommend but hey ho, he’s happy with it! However I’ve been out with him today just whilst he gets used to etc. But the tyres are atrocious!! They are super cheap Chinese rubbish and in my opinion THE most important part of your bike. I can understand the allure of these cheap shiny Chinese bikes, but not those tyres, urgh! So I’m going to try and get him to get better tyres, European if possible, but just at least made of rubber! What would you guys recommend? Sizes, 110/90 R 16 130/90 R 15 They can be cheap, just as long as they are not made of nylon for gods sake!

I’ve also found a small pair of normal waterproof textile pants with armour. Again small size. Drop me a line if you want to offer on this stuff? -

Just realised, I didn’t actually say what I considered a reasonable offer, I was thinking £150 plus postage costs. Not bad for £450 worth of kit! -

My daughter has given up her biking career after one CBT a ride on the back of my bike and two trips on her scooter! We bought all the gear from J+S accessories new when she went in for her CBT, but as stated above, she’s now given all that up. Drives around in a Fiat Panda! She’s not very tall and quite petite. (Er.. and beautiful, naturally ) I’ve got a Red Route biker denim jacket, with armour at elbows and shoulders, plus additional proper back armour in pocket provided. (One button missing from jacket) This is size 12 BKS Roxy leggings, these have hip and knee armour and are made from tough anti abrasion material. These are quite a flattering fit to a lady biker. Size 8 Finally, a HJC helmet in pearl white, superb looking and not one of the cheap models, although I couldn’t tell which model it is? It has internal sun visor and pinlock system. Size S56 This lot as stated has literally only been on a CBT and round the block! As new, apart from missing button as stated above. Cost around £450 new. I can find the pants and helmet, similar on the web page but not the jacket, although they still sell other Red Route products. I would like a reasonable offer for the outfit as a whole if possible, please, and paid by PayPal, again if possible. I’m open to splitting or alternative payment. I’m not asking anything near the asking price, just a fair second hand price. I’m happy to negotiate postage or meeting up for a hand over? Email, [email protected] For pictures and more info.

Ha! Yes stay out of Wales and Scotland as they have different rules!
-
That’s the way I read it. To be safe I’ll probably just go out on my own for now, best not to draw attention to myself too much. Cool

Unlimited exercise, “Go out in your car” But keep 2m apart. So go out on the bike but don’t pull over for a chat and a cigarette? Keep apart when getting ful. Could do with an official ruling on this, I’m going stir crazy here

She of course is in western themed porn movies...

Kitty Westwood This thread has genuinely made me cry laughing

All the above is good advice. You can have most 'style' of bike accidents just as easily on a 125 as on a bigger machine! But personally I'd go for the slightly safer option of getting some 125cc hours under your belt before moving on. DAS works fine for some people, trouble is the system is flawed, and one size does not fit all. Our bike school does try very hard to accommodate all types and levels of skills. Though it is a business we do try very hard to tailor training to each individual. Again, as stated above, baby steps, do your CBT and then see how you feel....

You, know my initial thoughts were this bloke drumming up business for his company! A very fishy story. Also very interesting information on undertaking So to be clear this isn't an offence any more? Since 1972

Cheers guys, I'll check my laptop out! I should stop sitting on the sofa using my daughters iPad -
You may be able to get work at B+Q? Those guys always have a regular staff turn around, and usually only start people on 16 hour contracts. It may help you when your own work picks up too? Don't expect mega money though!
