  1. Do you mean just in general, or that ot hurts more with contacts. Hurts more, ‘cause Sod’s law states it will get under the lens. Oh dear!
  2. What should you do in these situations (mod 2 test)? 1) 3 cars are indicating to turn left into the junction you are turning right out of? Do you trust the indicators a turn or waiting till all cars turn before oulling out? 2) Do you do lifesavers or shoulder checks in afditiin to mirror checks before pulling away when the lights go green at traffic lights? 3) You realise you are going 38mph in 30mph zone. Do you break to slow down or just roll off the throttle? Thanks all.
  3. Thanks all, just been for an eye test and contact lens assessment. I will start trials in a week and see how it goes

  5. Hi all, So i have been wearing perspecription glasses for a while and considering contact lens. Probably dailies. Has anyone had any issues with using contacts for motorcycling? Also any general advice is much appreciated. I use a full face helmet and atsrted usimg a pinlock, so need to get used to not opening the visor at traffic lights, etc. Thanks.
  6. Thanks all for sharing all your experiences and tips!!! I have a post going related to glasses and visors
  7. Whys that? You getting laser eye surgery or something? I booked an appointment with vision express for contact lens assessment and trial.
  8. Sounds liks you dont need to try it now you have cintwxts, but hsve you tired Muc Off Anti Fog spray? I as considering contacts lens, but put off by some people i know who developed irritable and sesnitive eyes by long term contact lens use. Also i have heard the ride vibrations can make vision blurry with contact lens in, do you ever have that experience?
  9. That Muc Off anti fog is really good for glasses in combination with the pin lock. I still need to open the visor sometimes as too much moistures makes the glasses go abit blurry because of the coating it puts on your glasses. Thats still better than glasses fogging up.
  10. Wow!! Theres the solution right, dont deal with cold, just get away from it
  11. Edit: Realised your location...
  12. In my limited experience of riding, i find its my fingers and toes that feel it the most.
  13. Thanks all. Some stories there for sure! Can you recommend any gear/brands that has proven itself in those conditions?
  14. Hi all, With cold weather approaching in 2020 wondered if tmbf community would share their tips to keep riding through the winter and products out there that hace served them well in the past. Thanks.
  15. I also bought some silk motorcycle gloove liners for use under my winter glooves, hsvdnt tried them yet but heard they mske a difference.
  16. Anybody use/tried any portable battery rechargeable heated gloves. I wonder how good thsy are?
  17. I have the 3 part pins. How you you adjust them? Do you loosen the screw and twist with your fingers. I don't have the tool that is shown the pinlock videos. Do you adjust them with the pinlock fitted to the visor or with the visor out?
  18. Thanks. I will fit it and give it ago.
  19. It's a hjc, with official pinlock.
  20. Thanks all. Are you meant to adjust the pins (if needed) with the pinlock fitted or when it isn't fitted (i.e, fit it then check seals, if needs adjusting, remove the pinlock, adjust the pins, then refit)? I assume that the pinlock isnt strong enough to adjust the pins with the pinlock fitted. Also, curious if anyone ever experienced leaks between seal and visor.?
  21. Hi all, I have a new helmet which has a pin lock with it. I haven't fitted it yet as it "strongly" advises in the pinlock manual that the vise or should not be opened when riding as it risks moisture, etc getting between the visor and pinlock. I wear perspecription glasses so find in colder and wet weather my glasses steam up, especially at traffic lights. So I need to pop the visor open to stop glasses from fogging up. I have bought some muc off anti fog which will arrive on Tuesday and will give that a go. I welcome any advice from others who have a similar situation to mine, or any experiences that other have had. Thanks.
  22. Thanks again everyone. You make very important points that CBT is "basic" training. Nothing like a full licence worth of training would give you. Of course I would absolutely love to get my full licence. That's a good suggestion on the A1, doing Mod 1 and Mod 2 on the 125cc, however I would say the chances of passing first time on these would be much less than by going through the training route? If I could have anything tomorrow (no time or financial restrictions) it would be this: Full licence, Honda CBR600RR. Reality is 99% of the my bike at the moment is used for commuting to work and back, so what I have at the moment does the job: CBT, theory, CBR125R The main reason I am trying to plan the next steps is that next summer my current CBT will run out As my biking is mainly commuting at the moment, if I did get my full licence I would probably go for a Honda Hornet which I have been keeping an eye on in the ads for a while now. Did anyone here do there mod 1 and mod 2 in the winter? Just wondering if this is a sensible option to consider? Thanks again everyone, really appreciate the input!
  23. Thanks a bunch everyone! Here goes my mini rant.... I use my bike mainly for commuting on city roads which are quiet congested. I feel that more bikers will be encouraged to avoid using cars and getting a bike if 125cc users are given more options. I am confused why after 2 years 125cc users need to retake a cbt, they have 2 years experience on a bike. It doesn't make sense. I really want to get my full licence, it's just time and money need to be factored in. Thanks again everyone!
  24. Thanks Glorian, I have completed my theory test and am over 24. Did you mean "the" theory test not "2" theory tests? Just checking I haven't missed. So at the moment I have a cbt (still valid), a theory test passed and am over 24. If I did my mod 1 and mod 2 test on my own 125cc bike what would that give me and for how long? Would that give me an A2 licence meaning I could ride anything up to 35kW (with no time limit on it)? I guess if I had this I would still need to do a full DAS to ride anything regardless of how long I had the A2 licence for. Thanks again really appreciate the input.
  25. no helmet... no respect... just kidding that was funny
