  1. Leave me behind? I just dont want to die just yet! You missed home made plum crumble tonight. I took care of your piece.
  2. Good advice, but I got a Nolan at Birmingham in November, comfortable, fits well etc, but much more wind noise. Can't test that in the shop.
  3. Thanks. I'll be on a gold rt1200, alex will be on a black fazer
  4. Just went to RTTW website to try and register, says its closed till after the event. Can we just turn up and pay on the day at Knutsford? Dave and Al
  5. Busy week then, getting married on the Thursday, don't think she'll postpone for that.
  6. I got a 1200RT earlier this year, lovely ride,, very comfy and economical. Done 2000 miles since collecting it at the end of May, but the very poor view in the mirrors bugs me. There are holes in the handlebar fittings presumably for some optional extras, has anyone found and fitted mirrors into these holes, or got any ideas for improving the situation. No matter how I adjust them, my main view is of my hand and forearm.
  7. Mine are the same, I think thats normal as you need the armor in the right place when riding, although on the day you really really need it you wont actually be on the bike at that point - so where will the armor be then relative to your knee?
  8. Def fancy that, need reminding closer. (see goldfish brain above, thats my boy and it runs in the family)
  9. Congrats. Does that mean you're coming out with us on Sunday?
  10. Apparently no ice cream for someone next time he's here!
  11. She just said I can play out next Sunday but it will cost me a dinner on Saturday!
  12. Wish I could make it, Weds/Thurs/Friday usually better for me but depends on work.
  13. I ruled out the Trophy 'cos of the weight and the seat height -too tall for me really. I had 2 deauvilles at 250k each then moved onto an FJR at 290 ish and riding is no problem, its moving it around in the garage or car park. That got nicked and now got the BMW rt, back down at 250 kilo and I just feel more comfortable handling it.
  14. Well done, now the fun part choosing the new bike. Watch your budget 'cos you'll want something different in 6 months - or less.
  15. Self confessed old fart seeks like minded bikers for gentle rides out in manchester/north cheshire area. Fed up chasing my son across Woodhead etc, also trying to get my other half onto the bike so anyone with an enthusiastic pillion would be even more welcome.
  16. Hi, was also at bikesafe today with al, my son. I'm the old fart that rides a tourer and doesn't keep up over the tops. You don't give any sign of seniority, but if you have to take your kids swimming you're a lot younger than me. Anyway I'm in stockport, only 10mins round the 60 from you.
