  1. Been in to my dealer today had a quick chat, he asked what fuel i'm using, mainly tesco shit. Suggested using a better fuel company before he 'gets in on sensors' and stuff to sort problem. Also been blipping on downshifting; not very smooth yet but does seem to have eradicated the problem at the moment.
  2. yeah i saw that picture on google search. looks like it may be back to the dealer then
  3. http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/NooBish-AbbZ/IMG_17361.jpg had a very quick look, being fully faired may be a hindrance, does this look anythign like it? or do you think it may be a case of getting the fairing off and having a proper look? http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/NooBish-AbbZ/IMG_17371.jpg
  4. thanks for your advise guys, I'll raise my idle speed (once i find out how to) and i'll also start trying to blip on down shifts. I did try on my 125 but couldnt grasp it instantly and gave up
  5. You must be really holding the clutch in for a long time. As you aproach a junction in 3rd gear, off the throttle, you must be pulling the clutch long enough for the revs to completely drop to stall the engine, and then letting the clutch out very quickly for it to lock the back wheel.. that was just yesterday's where i locked the back wheel. But it may be a result of that, as i like smooth changes Will see if this could solve it
  6. will try adjusting the throttle idle at some point. Otherwise, i'll take it back. Just hoping it's a simple fix that i can sort out myself before taking it back. thanks for all
  7. Sounds like you're letting the revs go too low. Does it also do it if you change from 4 to 3? Or 2 to 1? Didnt happen when i first bought the bike. and no, it doesn't happen in any other gear. Doesn't happen when changing up to 2nd either, just down.
  8. My recently bought SV has developed a sort of problem. Every now and again when changing from 3rd into 2nd gear (for example coming up to traffic lights) it just dies, and then starts again no problem whatsoever when I press the engine start button. Seems to have increased frequency over the last few days. Almost made me come off earlier today when i dropped the clutch before i'd sort of registered it'd stalled, rear when all over the place
  9. yep, the idiot behind the key rather than the equipment Thanks Stu
  10. I'm looking at the full manual online now (bike only came with a shortened version) and says the alarm fully arms 20 seconds after pressing the button, so, going to go and see if i can get it to make lots of noise in a moment
  11. I've tried wiating for 30 seconds for it to set itself (just the immob. i believe) then I've tried setting normally (indicators flashing twice) and i've tried arming (2 flashes) then pressing other button within 10 seconds ( a further 3 flashes) but still no sound if i start shaking. It did once go off if i stood the bike up fully, but i'm not too sure how i did it
  12. i got spare socket set, two thermal tops (went back and got another one) and girlfriend bought some gloves. The only thing I've used personally so faris the two thermal tops and they're excellent.
  13. Hi guys, picked up my SV650 on friday and one of the extras i had added was an S4 Red. After having read through the book I can't find what I want the alarm to do. I want it to obviously stop someone hot-wiring my bike, but more importantly, I want the alarm to go mental if someone tries to move my bike. At the moment, I can set the alarm, and even while it's 'armed' i can stand the bike up, move it around, shake it about and the alarm dosent sound. What the hell is the point in that. In the book, there's a mention of 'motion sensor' but only how to turn it off? Hopefully I'm missing something pretty damn obvious so anyone who can help please do:(
  14. ok thanks guys, finger nail biting moments will ensue I'm sure
  15. I've searched on youtube but can't find anything that shows me directly, so turning to TMBF How is it possible to get a bike from side stand to rear paddock stand without any help?
  16. parents will be there but i'm working
  17. thought I'd post about my experience If you read a few posts up, on Jan 2nd i was looking for schools, on feb 6th, i passed my MOD 2 I used a school in Manchester called mototechnique and would highly recommend. cheaper than any other school in this area and couldn't really tell you why, good advice and tuition throughout. Mod 2 was at the Atherton test centre and did recognize a few roads up there(ironically from when i went to look at a big bike ) Karl was my examiner and no complaints whatsoever about him. Instructions were exceptionally clear and in good time, he also had a nice bike, I think it was a blackbird but it also looked a different from one, so not too sure. Independant ride i was asked to follow signs for M61, then Bolton, then Wigan. All easy to follow and being left alone to make my own decisions on a bigger bike was strangely enjoyable, despite being under test conditions. one thing I noticed was I was so much more comfortable on my bike test than on my car driving test. Whether thats because you're sat in the car with the examiner watching everything you do, or whether I've been riding for 6 months most days I'm not sure. Anyway, now time to sell my CBR125(any takers? it's in the for sale sub-forum ) and get me a bigger bike
  18. Had i been able to, I'd have been down to Bristol today to pick up a GSX650F
  19. ATM thinking SV650, GSF650 or ER6n
  20. Passed Mod 2 today at the first attempt 3 minors, 2 for 'undue hesitation' both were not overtaking cars when in a 40 and a 50. They were doing about 35 and 45 in each but still Atherton test centre, nothing stood out as being too difficult. Independant ride was quite enjoyable to be honest, just me on my own, making my own decisions etc. Came home on the motorway, only for a short stretch. now to get L plates off, tidy CBr125 up, get it sold and get a new bike
  21. I have a Marushin helmet and searching 'marushin pinlock' doesn't seem to come up with anything. I could really do with one as I'm still out riding now whatever the weather. Any suggestions?
  22. thanks very much maccy, ordered the chain last night but held off on the anchor, maybe luckily so I've had a quick look on ebay and can only find one other underground anchor. Is there any chance you could post a link to the one you bought?
