  1. Passed Mod 2 today at the first attempt 3 minors, 2 for 'undue hesitation' both were not overtaking cars when in a 40 and a 50. They were doing about 35 and 45 in each but still Atherton test centre, nothing stood out as being too difficult. Independant ride was quite enjoyable to be honest, just me on my own, making my own decisions etc. Came home on the motorway, only for a short stretch. now to get L plates off, tidy CBr125 up, get it sold and get a new bike
  2. I have a Marushin helmet and searching 'marushin pinlock' doesn't seem to come up with anything. I could really do with one as I'm still out riding now whatever the weather. Any suggestions?
  3. thanks very much maccy, ordered the chain last night but held off on the anchor, maybe luckily so I've had a quick look on ebay and can only find one other underground anchor. Is there any chance you could post a link to the one you bought?
  4. New bike soon ( once i've got my Mod 2 passed) which won't be small enough to fit in the garage so am goign to get another ground anchor and am going to treat myself and the new bike to a larger chain I'm looking at the Y Anchor and Almax Immob. Series III (probably the 2m) + Squire SS65CS lock. Simple question, will the Y anchor be big enough? or would i be better going for the Y-max? Also, anyone with a gsf650 bandit or an SV650 (pointy) with the III or IV could you post about length of chain you have and where you secure it round/through your bike? thank
  5. think about each maneuver before you go for it. Stay nice and calm. For the speed exercises, just nail it, I had 56 for emergency stop, 53 for the swerve and i backed off a bit early (i thought too early to be honest)
  6. congratulations hope to be in your shoes by the end of next week
  7. cheers Tango and all the rest Mod2 prep on friday then hopefully a Mod2 by the end of next week
  8. question . in OP'sd post video, he says ' 20 zone for motorised vehicles' I thought that a 20 speed limit was for any vehicle on the road, powered or not..? Still a dick though EDIT: 1.40 in the mercedes video, funny looking bus he's riding there in the 'bus only' lane..
  9. just passed my Mod 1 at the first attempt. Really was worrying and over-thinking it to be honest. When i booked it on friday, apparently todays weather was rainy and cold, wasnt best pleased as i came off my 125 back in october in wet conditions and still haven't got over entirely tbh. But anyway, get to the test centre, is sunnyish, tarmac is abit wet but not enough to be of any bother. Speeds were 56 and 53 through the speed trap, 1 minor for when turning bike around after the emergency stop i had to plant my foot for balance. my tip i madfe myself do was, before every single maneuver, to stop. Think. Go through it in your head and obvious checks all over before any movement. Seemed to work well Mod2 prep session booked for friday and hopefully a Mod2 test next week
  10. while this is true with it been in a garage there will be masses of condensation already Not if you spray your walls with Expanding foam!! condensation free and warm to the touch walls (Photo taken before boarding over the walls in OSB sheet.... which i still need to complete ) walls? I don't see any walls in that pic, just a very nice Susie-que
  11. go on youtube, type in the name of your bike and beowulf exhaust i'm sure some will come up
  12. Within Temptation, Paramore and Triviums album 'Vengeance Falls'
  13. So when is everyone from TMBF coming round and camping then?
  14. can anyone suggest motorcycle schools in or around manchester that they used and would recommend? Been on CBT for 7 months or so, and have now decided I'm moving up to a GSF 650 S restricted.
  15. thanks for the review, i'm going to be looking for either one of these or a Bandit GSF600 in a few months time, once I get my MOD 1+2 passed. If it's an SV, i'll be looking for a naked one though; not too fond of the half-faired sorta look
  16. just posting to confirm that a Suzuki GSF 600 Bandit is ok to ride restricted on an A2 license And that this will continue to be the case after the end of 2013? Taken from DFT.gov.uk etc...
  17. I'll phone up motor technique and mike Williams at some point this week then. In a perfect world i would need a couple of hours just to get used to the bike and a few on the stuff for Mod1/2.
  18. Tried calling them and asking if they do single days? i found one which did single days, £400 with £160 retest fee and @ Chris, what do you mean a package? Tuition to pass all parts I assume? and how much was it if you don't mind me asking
  19. Like driving I'd much prefer to do single lessons, hopefully making it cheaper for me to pass my A2. At the moment the cheapest I've found is £400 for a single day, with a retest fee of £160. Now I'm going to have to do this all again in 2 years time so i don't want to spend anywhere near £500 on it. Been on CBT for 5 months now and am looking to upgrade to A" and Bandit 600 come spring/summer next year. Googling only comes up with these schools that do 3-4-5 day packages, which I don't want. Any ideas/suggestions of cheap schools/instructors? I'm in manchester, M44 Thanks
  20. thanks for the posts both of you. I don't think there'd be any point in going through it all then only upgrading to a 250, it'd probably have to be a 500 I'd be more tempted to go for the Thundercat, GPZ or SV650 all restricted though.
  21. been on CBT since july riding CBR 125(08 plate) and am starting to want to get a bigger bike, so a couple of questions. The place I did my CBT with do 4 day DAS for £499, but seeing as the test are £15.50 and £75 I'm not paying £500, especially as I'll only have to do this all again ina few years once I turn 24(or two years after Mod2 pass, if applicable) Have i understood right that I can't use my 125 for the tests as it's too low powered, it needs to be minimum 395cc? What other options are there, other than paying the aforementioned £500. What bikes would I be licensed to ride (with or without restriction) Max price £1500 as thats how much i spent on 125 and I'm sure i'd be able to get that amount back (new tyres, MOT, Taxed recently)
  22. the nobhead in the van who if he'd been any closer to me, would've been riding pillion, the f**king arse. Was right behind me constistently for a couple of miles, and was trying to get past whenever i strayed slightly off the centre line (mainly when going round bends) For the final 2 miles on a 50 limit road i sat at 40 though, slowing down verrrry early for roundabouts
