  1. Yep, normal. Mine make a "shing-shing-shing" noise if I spin the wheel round.
  2. Nice idea, I like it! Should work no problem - the oil is only the other side of the filter casing.
  3. +1 for Oxford 1st time. Had mine for yonks and still going strong.
  4. Carpark after 4 on a Sunday?
  5. Like my mum always says to this very day regarding motorcycling: "It's not you I worry about, it's all the other idiots on the road".
  6. I've been playing around with Kwak fairings - ZX6r on a ZXR750 and all is not plain sailing. I've done a bit of offering up and it'll need brackets making and a good bit of adaptation. I'm just using what I've got but you might be a bit more lucky...
  7. What's wrong with using a bit of chain and a padlock round something on the bike with the padlock through the D-ring?
  8. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday. The weekend is out as I'm down in Exeter.
  9. I was thinking of taking a spin up this way next week at some point as I need to pop in to Ultimate Bikes. Any one else around?
  10. Have you many any? Bloody hell, this is all getting a bit Daily Mail isn't it? It's all about risk, no? If you do something stupid, expect for there to be consequences. Like Joeman, my garage is about 20 metres from the front of my house and almost without fail I make that perilous trip sans-lid. If plod caught me in the act then I would have no problems justifying my actions as it's not a through road and there is little traffic. Regardless of the law, I will continue to wear a lid - not because it looks cool or whatnot, but because I have responsibilities and I'm really quite keen on living for the forseeable future. I'll still hoon round the track as fast as I can and get the bike sideways whenever possible but it's nice to know that I'm in with a shout if things go wrong one day.
  11. Can't think of any except just wear them a bit - doing some squats might help. I've got a 2 piece RST and the jeans (which I don't wear much) still threaten to cut me in half if I shift about too much. Don't know that getting them wet will help - doesn't leather shrink when it's wet?
  12. Good luck with it Gaz, I've always been a bit wary of stand springs since one pinged off at me.
  13. Nice one on the wheelie. Sounds like a chipped tooth but probably a split open job anyway.
  14. FYI - Halfords Pro and advanced socket and tool sets are now half price.
  15. Sounds pretty normal. I'd put money on you applying gentle pressure to the lever and having a pretty neutral throttle i.e. neither accelerating or decelerating. Congratulations, you've stubled upon something we all love to discuss at length!
  16. All hail the Prius brigade!
  17. Depends what cheap and splashing is. A Yuasa shouldn't set you back more than 40 notes.
  18. Hello everyone! As you will no doubt be acutely aware, this year is the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Ramsgate tunnels by HRH The Duke of Kent... In a nutshell, there is a huge network of interconnected tunnels underneath Ramsgate that were excavated and used during wartime. There’s about 3 miles of them all in all, ranging from a disused railway tunnel: http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/Mr_Fro/20100716_Ramsgate%20Tunnels/IMG_4449_v2.jpg http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/Mr_Fro/20101015_Ramsgate%20Tunnels/IMG_4910.jpg ...To smaller side tunnels: http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/Mr_Fro/20100606_Ramsgate%20Tunnels/IMG_0909.jpg These have been officially closed since the late 40’s but some naughty people have found access over the years and have used them to pfaff about with cameras and such. A small team has battled Thanet council and have been working hard to open them up as a tourist attraction http://www.ramsgatetunnels.org/index.html The opening date is 1st June (Saturday). I’ll be going down as an ex-Thanet bod/contributor to the project and wondered if anyone else fancied the ride out and a look-see (I know a really good place for chips on the seafront!). Cheers, Fro
  19. One of these kiddies perhaps. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p51010 There's already a hole in the what's left of the nipple so wind the tool in and happy days.
  20. I like the way your brain works.
  21. I keep my 1/2" below the knees so it doesn't really show. I guess it depends which screen you get and how you sit on the bike as to how effective the whole thing is.
  22. I really like this! Can you get a bolt remover? You know, one of those jobs with a reverse thread on it.
  23. Sorry, I'm 6'2 1/2"...
  24. I'm 6'2" also - I tried one on the Ninja and didn't get on with it - it shifted the stream up to my neck. I ended up binning it as I didn't like how it looked anyway.
