  1. Think should start up a thread with some D&D chat
  2. Bikesafe is good, some of the coppers are funny guys. My instructor (Happened to be the guy who taught me to ride in the first place) always said when people talked about accidents they were in and said things like "They came out of nowhere" or "I couldn't react in time" he always said, "Why were you there?" always looking ahead and around you, subtle hints of an accident waiting to happen, idiots to do stupid manouvers, people on their phones. Riding a bike is about observation and paying attention, if you couldn't control the bike while looking in the mirrors because the road is "Bad" maybe you should have slowed down, it's a limit not a target remember.
  3. This. Maybe time to re-do the CBT or do the proper test as skills seem to be failing. Or get some better mirrors. you know.. ones that show you whats happening behind you. I can glance down for a fraction of a second at mine and see whats going on and if a copper has been following me for 3 miles blaring his horn (you know that really loud noise you often here from 5 miles away) how did you not hear that btw? I've met you... You're clearly old than 13. maybe 15?
  4. I was taught, one before you pull away and one as you begin the manouver, The more the better but don't look backwards instead of forwards for the whole time
  5. It's legal if done correctly. Just pay attention to other drivers, and the road. Coming up to a slip road on a dual carriageway? Chances are that guy in the BMW/Merc/whatthehellkindaspoileristhatforacorsa, is going to try move across as he wanted to save a lot of time. See someone look in their mirror repeatedly? They might be checking that it's clear to move over, they might not see you so slow down and if unsure toot the horn it's what it's for. (or get pipes and blip the throttle) See wheels turning to change lanes? again let them know you're there, they might just be waiting for that gap infront of the lorry that just opened up so they can slip by and undertake a few cars. Think ahead, keep an eye on your surroundings, go your own pace, if someones is being you filtering and tailgating you, just find a gap, indicate, pull in and let them pass, then just carry on after and remember you DON'T have to filter, sit in traffic if you feel safer and not all gaps are worth it. oh and don't stick your hazards on.
  6. Agree with above, It's great being able to do it properly, but nobody does because as a biker if I ever realise "Oh I'm going the wrong way" I don't think to turn around, I carry on and go the longer route
  7. I was gonna advise some petrol as a solution... Followed by a healthy dose of matches
  8. Don't feel bad, majority of people fail on the U-turn, When holding the bike steady and looking over your shoulder it feels unstable and people wobble. Just practice on your current bike. Keep the revs high, hand OFF the front brake, foot over the rear one slow yourself down if you need to and just play with the clutch for your speed. Select gear, foot on brake, life saver, start to pull off, lifesaver, get a good distance into the area, lifesaver and begin manouver. do NOT look at the line, look at the end point, if you focus on the line, target fixation = you're going to ride over it. Also use the space available, my instructor always went on about how most people failed because they tried to do it in such a small area, go right down and you have more time to straighten up at the end! Good luck you'll be fine
  9. Take your time, breath, if unsure of what to do speak to the instructor. Also when you meet the instructor, shake his (or her) hand and smile, make them think you're a top banana. Goodluck! Pass Mod 1, Mod 2 is easy.
  10. I'm currently using a camera he reviewed, The TCL SVC 200 cost me £85 with a bunch of mounts, its absolutely tiny and lightweight, about 4-5hour battery life and spare ones are about £2-£4 I am trying to put some videos up at some point but will update when I have. 1080p or 720p. pictures or video, usable in the car as a dash cam as well as on the bike, waterproof case provided. microphone port on the back and charging port that has a rubber seal so yo udon't have to take the entire back off, meaning it's usable while charging in the rain. https://www.joovuu.com/gb/action-camera ... c-200.html
  11. Don't let anyone see you have gum.
  12. Have you tried setting it on fire? I hear that's a common fix
  13. Yay, bandits Getting engineers at work to look at the exhaust tomorrow, they have more accurate tools to measure the diameter and I can then order a reducer
  14. Just tie a long piece of string to the bike, get a throttle lock and let go. whats the worst that could happen.
  15. I log on, look to see if "Rantmachine" has posted, read the topic usually have a laugh and join the most likely rant about a Chinese bike
  16. If it looks to good to be true.. it probably is. Always offer help where possible, people remember the little things.
  17. And if you do choose to argue it soon comes down to Hitler, Natzis and/or yo momma. Or Chinese bikes Or any of the below... http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/spastic_potato/TMBFBanner_zps8900fd34.jpg I will never not click like when you post this picture
  18. You're going to get this thread locked... Stop talking about Chinese bikes
  19. what if they match her mother's too?? It always does http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140726023420/clashofclans/images/5/50/If-you-know-what-i-mean.png
  20. So you're the nob causing all the traffic jams then. Actually trying to cause an accident so i can prove that the "safety cameras" vans are actually just "motorist mugging" devices. If we all had a crash at the site of a camera vans, we could mess up the safety figures so badly that they would have no choice but to stop using them for health and safety reasons... Golly... But I just got a new exhaust I don't wanna scratch it..

    Exhaust Clamp

    Exhaust Clamp

Long story short, Didn't take whole exhaust off in the end just cleaned the rust off under the bike as best I could, put new exhaust on (yay) sounds amazing, but I'm getting some fumes escape where I have swopped the link pipes over, old one was nice and snug, new one is a bit smaller so I put some gun gum stuff in there it helped for a while but I think I need to put some more on. Also I need a better clamp I think as the one I got is just a U shaped clamp and not the BEST fit, now can anyone recommend somewhere to get a good clamp that's ideally large enough to cover some of the rusty parts of the collector box, needs to be 60mm diameter. Will get a photo up later might make this a bit easier to understand.
  24. But...fire..? Can't use impact driver without taking the entire front of the bike as there is genuinely f**k all space. Heat won't help can't get anything in to turn it any more.
