  2. I like the guy. You take him as he is dnt take him too serious i think he is funny. Dont really care if he isnt a buddhist monk in his spre time. One of his latest tweets is 'having a beer waiting for the storm to pass'
  3. Problem is getting used to the larger bike to manouver and also thr clutch will be completely different a lot more clutch control is needed on a bigger bike, on a small bike you can be off the clutch crawling along but to get the same speed on a bigger bike you need to be slipping it. Foryour mod 1 not only is it the test part but getting to and from the test center as most schools will escort you there on their bike (unless you have a suitable machine to meet them there with) Slow control to get tight controlled turns leanthe opposite way to counter the weight this allows you to carry less speed as when you steer in you need momentum to keep you up otherwise
  4. Been hurting since mid jan, tried ridingthe bike straight away but too painful, started riding properly a couple weeks ago still some pain but bareable the last couple days nearly no pain. Been on neproxin on and off
  5. You pay to usr the facilities not someone to do it for you Don't mind me, I'm a confirmed cheapskate. same as that and lazy so the conveniece factor appeals to me haha
  6. You pay to usr the facilities not someone to do it for you
  7. I nod and get ignored by plenty i just call them ignorant and move on. On a hot day with loads of bikes about on a popular road i ent nod much because my head would fall off
  8. Yh he learnt the hard way didnt he, greasy roads and spills his clean bike. I would use it definitly
  9. We need these here! (Unless we already have some i dont know of) its brilliant. Ride in dirty and out clean Low pressure jet, dryer, onky thing thats missing is a way of turning the wheels to scrub up and also a facility to clean chain and lube http://youtu.be/uxvWwO_zmNs
  10. I would replace myself but thats just me, take the cable off the wheel end and give it a tug it will more than likely just pull out because its snapped inside the sheath
  11. Everyone learns at their own pace. Do you ride with others, after passing i think i must have put on 600 miles on my first bike and i sold that after a month to buy the bike i wanted (turned out i wanted bigger) I went riding with experienced riders, done plenty of reading and vid watchin of advanced riding and soon was able to keep up with the others at a comfortable pace, once you learn that the bike can do more than you give it credit for the sooner you will gain the confidence needed.
  12. Got today off to head off to see family and its half 8 and im bored of daytime tv already, its so bad!
  13. Good luck pal im battling wit tendonitis in my hand from my accident and it is dam painful at the moment and normally uncomfortable
  14. Ive never seen a fully faired diversion, i think they look ok with the belly pan thing but would look odd with a fairing. U got any pics of it
  15. Your expected to filter on the test if the examiner is on a bike too and if you dont when hitting traffic you could recieve minors at least for not making progress
  16. Knuckles are vulnrable and easily smashed up so the protection is key, yes an outstretched hand is usually how people go down and decent gloves incoorporate scaphoid and ulna impact zones and some have sliders to so the matirial doesnt grab the tarmac and jarr your hand. Aside from that you need a hardy matirial for abrasion on the palm (ive lost all the skin from both palms in a pair of magic gloves on a pushbike not fun)
  17. I done peaks last year great part of the world, rained when i was in buxton though
  18. I want to see them do it in ones bought from lidl then ill be impressed
  19. 13 seconds impact abrasion...... I remain open minded but reserved thats better than some leathers so im not sure. The underlayers would be a good buy however ill be on the hunt for some of those. If the jackets are really that good i wouldnt mind getting one for work use as it gets oily and greasy
  20. If you read all the suzuki bumpf they will tell you that the set valve is to give you more back pressure at lower rpm and then the valve opens at higher to give you better flow, this is in b&w but the truth of the matter like the link i posted up in here is that the set valve is a noise reduction aid, an active exhaust if you like, and people have overridden the valve and then put the bikes back on a dyno and even recorded performance gains but more noticably the sound is louder.
  21. by no means is this a difinitive guide but comes from my own experience and someone may benefit from it when buying their first or next set of gloves i am now on my 6th set of gloves in 18 months since i passed. this is winter and summer gloves combined but really i should have just two and three at most. finding the right glove is a time consuming thing that a lot of people myself included do either on impulse or with little amount of thinking. i have just bought a new pair that im happy with as it offers me all the protection i need. the mistake i have made previously is to buy a pair that actually fits me..... and thats wrong for winter and chilli season, as the basic principles state that you need an air gap between your finger and the glove that is in contact with the cold rushing air otherwise the cold is wicked through even the the thickest of gloves straight to your fingers and then your cold. the second thing is the protection level, now obviously the more you pay the more protection comes with the glove. i hadnt really thought about impact zones ect, for me as long as they would hold up sliding down the road then they would be fine but no! i had an off in early dec and i highsided, i had a broken scaphoid displaced, obviously i was casted and this was on for 6 weeks, then when my cast came off the rest of the damage was revealed, my hand was still heavily bruised, tendon damage ect. this was from the initial impact with the road. the gloves i was wearing were my armr winter waterproof ones, the leather didnt scrub through on my slide up the road but apart from some padding there isnt any armour. i see loads of people on bikes with ski type gloves which obviously dont cut the mustard. my new pair are the rst tracktech evo which have a varied type of leather for different areas, scaphoid and ulna protection, carbon knuckles, finger armour, joined little finger to the next (which i real important in an off) and a hard gauntlet for more ulna protection with double close strap for proper fit. i know there are better ones out there but unless i wanted to spend a fortune which not all of us can do this offers all the protection i need. they are spring summer gloves and because they are sized right i can fit under gloves on too and even without them because i have an air gap the cold doesnt get through even with these chilli morning commutes to work. i know i have rambled on a bit here but hopefully this may help someone out new or old ride safe
  22. Removing set valve and bypassing wires wont put the bike into limp and wont slow it down and even just leavibg the annoying light on wont either just type it into youtube and there are countless vids showing it
  23. Wrong. People are that stupid or dumb
  24. Alright pal, forgot vegans dont wear animal product, anyways moving on. Im notnpersonally a fan of armr anymore, when i started biking they were appealing as they were cheap and decent looking gear but they dont last the test of time at all. My textile hacket which i still use for work (im a mechanic and it gets real grubby so dont care) after the first wash it started fraying and the velcro weakened, after the second wash some stitching became pulled. Im thinking about if i come off in this jacket if it cant even handle a wash cycle hows it going to cope sliding along the road, as for gloves, my leather armr gloves held up in an accident but i think thats more because they are leather not because they done anything right but as you cant wear leather and your stuck with textile, my fiances gloves have fell apart after very little use of being pillion........ Moral of my story is it will do for a quick fix but like me you will end up replacing it with something better. Rst make good gear and inexpensive really. Anything rst i would say works
