  1. Well done, BTW I think that there is a maximum safe speed for the emergency stop and swerve but its something like 70 kph, above that and curtains. I stand to be correct though!
  2. The hazard perception should be alright. You need to click the mouse (left or righ button) every time you see a "potential" hazard. ie, a car about to pull out, a child walking down the street. Then when a potential hazard DEVELOPS into an actual hazard you click the mouse again. The earlier you spot when the potential hazard has turned into an actual hazard the more points you will score. The size of the scoring window changes with each clip too. There is load stuff about it on-line and quite a few sites will give you free clips to practice on. Too many clicks or clicking in the pattern and you can be disqualified from scoring points on that clip. Personally, I think its more about getting your technique right more than anything. BTW I got 61 out of 75 and was disqualified from one clip!
  3. You can check your driving entitlements on the DVLA website. You'll need your driving licence number, national insurance number and postcode. Have a wander around the DVLA website and you'll find it.
  4. If that £420 includes both Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests then you will have done well IMHO. I spent just under £700 to get mine but that did include the theory, CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2. I would have said £600 - £750 and a guaranteed pass wouldn't be a bad deal either.
  5. The Mod 1 can be harsh, very harsh. All about getting each manoeuvre right one after the other feeling as nervous as hell! Good luck with your next attempt.
  6. Well done. Must be weird to be followed in a car and not a bike!
  7. Good luck with the MOD 1. MOD 2 is definitely the easier of the 2.
  8. Well done. That is the hard one done. mod 2 is definitely easier and much less stressful. Just remember what you have learnt.
  9. I have a pair of Hood kevlar jeans too. They are excellent - almost fully kevlar lined. Their price have shot up over the last few years but really good quality. They do an inside leg of 36" too. A bonus for those over 6' like me.
  10. Theory Test and Hazard Perception Test are pretty straight forward. One of the apps is great for theory side of it. I got 50/50 and 61/75 respectively. The Mod 1 is definitely the trickier of the two modules but if you have good control and ability it shouldn't give you many problems but a very very simple mistake or lapse of concentration can end in a fail within a heartbeat. Good luck and keep us posted.
  11. Unlucky mate. I failed my Mod 1 1st time around. I know how you feel. Go it 2nd time around. It was the slalom I stuffed up and 2nd time I felt even more nervous shaky. However, the extra few hours practise I had before my 2nd Mod 1 made sure it didn't happen again. If its any consolation, I would say the Mod 2 is much easier than the Mod 1.
  12. Keep the revs up, foot gently on back brake and keep the clutch on biting point. Going too slow and dropping the revs was the problem for me. Ride the clutch and rear brake and you'll be fine. If you start to slow down, just let the clutch out a little.
