  1. After doing your DAS on a 600, a 250/300 will feel quite under powered very soon I would have thought.
  2. I guess the £180 is for a fulls day training including the test. It may be very beneficial to have another full days training before your test. Their costs may change depending on what time the actual test is.
  3. Well done Matey! Would have said that is the more difficult one done but not to say the Mod 2 is in the bag. Good luck for Friday.
  4. Failed my 1st Mod 1 on the slalom too. Pure nerves. Never had a problem with it until on the test. Nailed it 2nd time around though. Good luck for 2 weeks time.
  5. Its not as difficult as those practise clips! However, I think you do need to learn a technique that gives you the best chance of passing it. The click 3 times, as mentioned above, is basically what I used. Managed to get disqualified on one clip but still got 60 something out of 75. In some of the practice clips there are lots of potential hazards but only one emerges to become the actual hazard. Think you will find on the CGI clips that there will be only one or two potential hazards so spotting the actual hazard will be easier. Just don't panic and over think things.
  6. Congratulations. Lucky to get a pass for a foot down on the figure of 8. That's where I failed my first MOD 1. Your examiner must have been in a very good mood that day.....he wasn't the chap who'd won the Euro millions for the 2nd time was he?
  7. The original expiry date still stands. Should it fail, it will still be covered until the current one expires.
  8. Need to apply your brakes when coming to roundabouts etc on your test, if for nothing else but to make the drivers behind you ( and your examiner) know that you are slowing down.
  9. Just take your time and go back over each answer. No rush. If you have the official DVLA book or one of the apps you should do very well on the theory bit of the test. Some of the questions are worded slightly differently or used in a scenario but basically still the same. Good luck.
  10. They are supposed to be using all CGI clips at some point in the future if not already. Did my theory 12 months ago and the actual clips used in the test were much easier than the ones I had practised with/on. Had a few CGI sample clips after my test was finished and found them very easy. IIRC the only hazard(s) was the emerging one and no other erroneous ones.
  11. I was taught to get up to the speed limit of the road as soon as you could if it was safe to do. Had a good mix of roads around my test centre. Think I did a junction or two on a dual carriageway too.
  12. You need to "make progress". Not getting up to the correct speed (for the road you are on), if SAFE to do so, will result in a minor. 4 minors for the same fault = fail IIRC.
  13. Think the school I did my DAS had a £250 excess! Don't think is that unusual for bike schools. Car driving maybe a little different as the car may have had dual controls plus the instructor has access to the steering wheel and hand brake and can probably bring you to stop. On the bike, you are on your own!
  14. I found the actual test easier then the practise clips on various apps/websites for what its worth.
  15. I opted for a double click type method. Clicked once when I spotted the hazard and then again a second or two later to make sure I clicked inside the window. Cannot remember my exact score but think I got 64 out of 75. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be.
  16. You need to present your CBT certificate and Theory Certificate when you do the MOD 1, so yes theory is needed. Iirc they have dropped the price of the theory test. I'd say budget £700 for your DAS. Maybe more, maybe less.
  17. They are supposed to be changing the hazard perception to be completely CGI. Not sure when though. I had a few clips to look at and review at the end of my theory test 12 months ago. Thought they were easier as there was only one or two potential hazards as opposed to lots going down a real high street.
  18. Think that most people would agree and say that it is easier than the MOD 1. Good luck.
