@ Philyoung I echo what has been said about the watches, unless you are interested to see how you feel correlates to what is happening they are pretty useless. A big element to any weight gain/loss regime is being open with yourself. I’ve heard too many stories starting with “big boned” or “my genetics” and even “I have thick skeletal muscles”. Genetics can play a part with your metabolism, but the rest is myths used to justify themselves, which is bad in itself as it shows there is insecurity there. People hide behind invented issues to palm off the fact they just like their food, when there is no problem being that way. The problem I have is why lie to yourself? It only makes things worse. Any issue can be overcome, a slow metabolism benefits from increased activity, whereas my fast metabolism requires a lot of eating without overdoing it on fat. Trying to keep carbs and calories high while keeping fats low is far trickier than I ever expected.

Ah Thai brides... The lexmotos of the wife world. On topic I agree the internets ability to track your movements is scary. What is more scary is after the mrs used my computer the adverts went from tools/bikes for sale to pregnancy tests and baby food

My fitness pal is a good app to use your phone as a fitness device. What you need to do is just monitor your calorie intake. And then either by yourself or with help of a fitness trainer find out what's your bodies required intake for its energy use. It lets you track sugar/fat intake as well, which is very handy. You have to be very honest with it though It really helped me as I found my diet fluctuating between 1200-1600 calories a day at the beginning of 2012 as I skipped breakfast and then had little for lunch. I fell below 60kg, which at 6ft2" is ludicrous. When I started lifting weights I used it to get my intake high, but keep track of various fat/sugar intakes and I eventually cut out fizzy drinks totally. I find it showing me graphs of where my fat/sugar/sat fat intake useful, and I think you will too. As seeing a problem quantified drives you to make steps to fix it. It’s a great tool, it helped me put 25kg on, and I’ve used it to inflate my weight during times of heavy training, and then to cut off fat when switching to a cardio routine to tone up. The best thing to use is your own intellect. Use the app as a tool to find out what holds your weight, then bring up your activity level and ensure you don’t try to eat too much more after periods of workout. The biggest problem people have is the day after a workout they drop their usual work load down a bit to recover and it undoes some of the work you did. It’s key to maintain a steady activity level, with times of higher activity like a walk/run/gym session placed throughout the week.

Depends which/how the seal goes, as you can lose crank pressure without the leak, which makes it a real pig to find It should still run, just very badly unless they let go totally.
-
You'd only need to stagger/sleep walk between one other train if you took the wrong one to begin with. I'd usually say it's too unlikely but I've had mates wake up in Edinburgh... I'll keep the spare bed made Joe

Vacuum hoses all properly connected? How was the compression before the kit went on, and how is it now? Also is the carb set up properly? Is the mixture set correctly? And is oil mixing with the fuel as it should be? Quite a lot of things can hold a 2-stroke back. Especially the smaller ones! Also, welcome to the forum.

I'm very hard to get on here Friday onwards as I have a habit of loading my weekends with things to do. If you want my number just drop a pm with yours and I'll text across mine. Me and Ricky are meeting at Millenium motorcycles this Sunday as he left his summer gloves in my garage, and I'm away Saturday. But if there's ever a mild/dry Friday evening I'll often do a day into night run on the bike if anyone's interested in those?
-
Blimey! It just sort of seemed you booked it, did it, passed it, and had the bike waiting all quite quickly Very well done! Enjoy the bike, and prepare for the Powahhh
-
As it's so close to where I live, I'll probably take Friday off and be there to say hello as people arrive. There's a lot of faces old and new I'd like to see, it's always a surprise how some personalities clash on here but get along well in person. Will sort out payment soon from home for the pair of us. Will see how we go, but the Saturday I've put aside for my grans birthday.

I bet he felt a right nob when that bike inevitably hot seized! I know I did You could often count on your hands how many top speed runs you got from a 125 2-stroke that could push a ton before it let go. Or in my friend circles anyway! The Suzuki rg125 was a proper beauty though. Shame they're becoming collectors items now!

Ditto with Phil. Had a 110-120kg ish bloke on the back of an Aprilia RS50, which had about the same weight and power as a YBR (derestricted). Handling was very wooden, and acceleration was gone, but braking wasn't too difficult to adjust to. It's all about competence. Do you feel you can adjust to a pillion on the back? As if you can do it with someone your own weight it becomes easier. This isn't to say it's as easy. The heavier they get, the harder it is, but I'd never say it was insurmountable, just more to adjust to. A bloke I took into college a lot was 2 stone heavier than me, but a couple of years later I'd caught after weight training and it was easier. Not by a vast amount but it felt better to me and I can't decide if I just grew more confident/weight balanced/bit of both. A lot of it is to do with the bike, an SV with a heavy passenger was dreadful as the rear shock on that bike is thought by some track day lovers I know to be too soft for a heavy solo rider. But on my CBR600F I had, which is a similar spec to your TT600 it was fine with any passenger I took on it.

I've seen those handlebar power supplies and while much easier they're not as robust as the old school relay. And they look a bit bulky on the handlebar compared with a 12v outlet tucked away somewhere. The reason they're not as robust is with time their waterproof abilities fail and you get ingress, and then you'll get a nuisance blowing of the fuse. (From what I've heard). Also I've never liked the idea of having a live connector accessible on the outside of the bike. It's all too easy to forget something is plugged in, and I don't like someone could tamper with it easily. Just a bit of paranoia really! Just my 2 pence on it. Go which ever you feel most comfortable with!
-
I have a 12v socket on my bike for connecting devices to. It's a waterproof one. You just need a relay, connect it to a running light so it flicks on when the bike is running, and then on the other side of the relay have it connected directly to the battery. You'll then have power whenever the bike runs. Plenty of circuit diagrams on google to do this

Just count your stars it wasn't a pig otherwise Cameron would have launched a national enquiry. As Glorian was a rozzer, I'm inclined to still think the cops did what they thought was best. It's also a shame they can't act without higher authorisation, just shows what a tight noose we have on them in this country.

I wouldn't know unfortunately so ask Tango, He and Bonniebird have had a fair few triumphs so he'll know his beans
-
Not bad I think I'm right in thinking you can hook up your TT600's ECU to a laptop and mess with the maps. Get on some Triumph forums and see what's about, as once you start you'll learn what you like, then you can tweak the bike to match your style. It's a good feature if it does have it, as the rest of us have to shell out for expensive remaps!

Bought this Triumph TT600 http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160225/cc9b9ae08be9f4c7658c72d574e5baa5.jpg Got to admit, I'm 50 shades of jealous! I tried to find a TT or speed 4 but ended up with another CBR600F. And always wished I'd given the Triumph a go! Good luck with your test, be excited, but keep focused and just repeat what you've done with your teacher. Don't try to put any more effort than you would normally, as if you keep relaxed and focused you'll glide through the test.

And in Gin's defence. She knows the road so is likely in a better position to say whether the police were able to catch the dog. I just hope the dog didn't suffer. Was a shame this happened, but that's all, no need for a police probe.

Rant - It doesn't wilfully ignore that fact, you have watched me weigh up your point of view against the one given to me by the "out" campaign and decide you point had more grounding, as mine would have relied on a lot. I was undecided due to the facts of both sides being overwhelming. Also I didn't say we had the same angle, I said we want the same outcome, but our methods vary. And as per my first statement, I accepted my way was unlikely feasible due to a lack of honest politicians to make it happen. I just want to achieve social stability by creating a better economic situation. Without money you can't help these people! Surely you see that? Otherwise the ship sinks, and being able to say morally "We helped the people by all going down together" isn't any help at that point. It seems to me, being undecided is viewed the same as uneducated. Being on the "other" side is also viewed as such. Also regardless of any correct point I make, I'm pulled up on old angles I had, and out of context lines. So I'm stepping out of this thread as I'm decided. I'm not voting. I don't want any part of this anymore. If anyone has a reply to something I've said, feel free to PM it to me where you can be as blunt as you like. I get the feeling hidden feelings are motivating some of these replies. Edit - And I wish no hard feelings on anyone over this discussion. I just feel disillusioned with politics right now.

I am not a UKIP voter, in fact I am very much the other end of the graph.. However that comment... Jeez. You’ve pulled my comment well out of context of what I said in previous posts there, so please keep it civil. I said the hateful minority are following UKIP, and said right from the start good people exist in the groups and the views for wanting to leave are separate. But an integral view of UKIP is its anti-EU stance, and was one of its leading points for reasons to vote for it in the election. So I have my money on the vast majority of them voting out, the good ones because they can’t be convinced the EU isn’t bad for us, the hateful ones because they’re racist. It was to support my point that the minority is bigger than you think, as they’re using a party that wants out for separate reasons. The minority has commandeered the power of a bigger minority to push their agenda, and that worries me. I want to maintain the multi-culturism, never have I suggested people be sent home either. I’d only go out if we could guarantee the people living here remain as they are using my speculated idea we could do as the Norwegians do. But if the people aren’t safe, then I won’t risk it on the basis that I’d rather risk being worse of economically than displace millions.
-
A growing minority, which will all vote "out" regardless of argument. UKIP had double the votes of the entire of Scotland, and a core element to their policies is to curb immigration, in effect targeting the open border but for completely separate and distant reasons. I bet they are all "out" voters. Many of which don't care for the facts. I don't see my argument as that different to Rant. We both want the people here to be safe, we both don't want them shown the door. But I also don't want to end up in a situation where we are crippled and it hurts everyone. However I conceded that my point of view would rely on a everyone being amicable and following a common sense approach to keep everyone here safe, while being able to make reforms where we wish. Then I remembered politicians are rarely that kind.
-
There are plenty of people who would argue for people not to be safe here! They generally follow groups like Britain first, EDL, UKIP and the Tories for the watered down ones. Make no mistake, I have no issue with people following UKIP and the Tories, there are plenty of good people in there. But there are a lot more people out there than you think who really just want to frog march people onto a boat. Worrying such views exist but there we go
-
I think we're closer aligned than we think, just our methodology is different. I use economics to the benefit of the people, it's a socialist quirk I have. I'm coming at it from the worry poorly suited and badly regulate policies could allow things like our housing market to suffer as it hurts everyone aside from the rich few. I don't want the people here to suffer so assume the logical choice is to have a Norwegian style agreement. Whereas I think you worry that the government can't be trusted to look after these people, so it's more likely their lives will be turned upside down as bitterness from the EU causes slammed doors. So in essence we both want the people to be safe, but I'm more trusting that the system will not let them down given the EU's fierce stance on human rights. But you're right there, as I would be making a risky bet the more I think about it. Food for thought here...

At 3am they could have been running low! If the cop was a dog lover, even more reason I suspect he made the right choice. He did something he didn't want to do believing it was right. It's sad the dog died, but imagine the uproar if they carried on and someone did have an accident and die?
