  1. Glad you're well! With legends dropping left right and centre, it's good that for our forum legend it was only minor

    Germany....

Scaling over 1,000,000 people to a low percentage is a detached perspective, but when you consider even 1% a year is unsustainable you can see why people are getting tense. Especially when the people there don't see it as 1%, they see thousands of people coming to their town, then when a couple of bad eggs resort to crime, their view on these "strangers" becomes bad. Mass migration of any kind, us going there, them coming here is a disaster waiting to happen. The culture clash causes all kinds of havoc, breeds hate, and then you segregate. In this case we've had hundreds of sexual assaults and it's divided people in Germany. Point being, this fix is just a treatment of a symptom, not the cause. More effort to give these people their homeland back would be better.
  3. There's a special place in Hull for whoever invented autocorrect.
  4. Did someone forget their Esta? Like the idea personally, a bridge to the states would be good... How long would it be until you had a "jungle" of economic migrants at the gates though? There are a big sensitive bunch over the water.
  5. Is it because of media exposure, or are we really losing a lot all at once here? Still reeling from Rickman and Bowie going so close. Little sister bawled her eyes out over it! There must be a big after party going on up there...
  6. B&Q has the best layout I find. Although I go to Wickes mainly for basic electrical supplies as it's not too bad in that regard. Everything else they are substandard. Screwfix is expensive, but as it's a click and order thing I don't mind some of the stuff they do. Homebase is a bit of a mess so I don't even look now, I just track down a member of staff and get them to show me around. Staff are a bit weird though in the homebase near me, I went up to a young lass to ask where a light fitting was I needed. She was showing me around when very suddenly she stops, looks at me scared and asks "Is there chocolate on my face?!". I looked, answered "eeerm... no" and then she acted massively embarrassed and more or less ran off... I was just left there like "wtf". Left me next to where the light fitting was though!
  7. That looks like happiness on a plate. I'm currently eating fresh dried seaweed someone brought in from Thailand. Hitting new dietary lows.
  8. There had better be a really cool planet where these guys are going...
  9. I'm glad your care for my well being is near equal to my own I seem to be very hard to kill anyway. Family trait That's not an invitation to try however!!!
  10. Unfortunately, legally speaking Moo now has first dibs. But if you ask her nicely...
  11. It appears identical in spec... Only one thing for it... Wire it direct and see if I die
  12. It's terrible, more so that you had to get involved not just because you wanted to help, but because no one else would. Similar happened to me some years back on the M6. Drove past a burning car, occupant still inside, at a distance I saw a figure inside the car and thought I could help. No emergency vehicles were there. The second I got out I saw the person couldn't be saved. Makes you think how detached do you have to be to just drive by that as it started.
  13. YES! Well done and thank you that man. I'll get the marigolds and rubber steel toe cap boots on and set about frying my brains one more time!
  14. As it's an old bike keep an eye out for it. It was probably stolen by two chavs with a bolt cutter. It's a damn shame, stealing a bike is so easy these days because the police do little for stolen goods in general.
  15. I've just bought some LED T8 tube lights. They are 5 feet long and about 28w. I'm aware that most fluorescent lights use a ballast and starter to get themselves going. The tubes I've bought simply come with a label saying "some modification to the ballast may be required if it's not magnetic". The tubes come with some LED specific starters, which I imagine do practically nothing, they just short the connection for fixtures using a magnetic ballast you can leave be. My old tube lights however don't have a modern magnetic ballast, but I'd like to convert them to take the LED tubes. The LED tube has a + and - on the one end, meaning one end is dead and just there for mechanical fitment with the fixture. Is it as simple as pulling all the internal wiring out of the T8 fixture, and just having a choccy block connecting live and neutral to one end? Am I right in assuming the LED tube has the same internal circuit as most domestic LED bulbs with a diode bridge rectifier and step down voltage control? Google seems to send me off in a few directions, so wondered if anyone could confirm it either way. I'm probably going to get electrocuted again.
  16. My dad has one on one of his bikes. It's fairly generic though, it's just one he's always had because he fancied it. Wouldn't worry about people remembering you, on an S1000RR you're out of sight before they get remember your reg One day when I can afford a top of the line Ducati, I'm having "IOU DA4" if it hasn't been taken. Just to give people a laugh as I go by basically.
  17. After they've had a bath in the washing machine, and a rinse down the toilet, where else would he put it?
  18. I thought it was just a noisy, glorified house heater

    Tyres help

Got your pm. Sent one your way, but short answer is yes it will likely fit if it clears your mud guard. But it will change handling and speedo accuracy.
  20. I was ready by the start of October, and it dragged on until a week and a half before Christmas so I know the pain there. Waiting for a chain to clear is all consuming! Glad you're sorted. Bristol... Oh... I'm sorry... Wasn't worth the wait was it? I am joking, congrats.
  21. The mrs has been insisting I quit my job. She thinks it's cruel that we've been using rabbits to test our new products. I suppose she has a point. I work at a hammer factory.
  22. Yes, I agree. He gives all other cyclists a bad name. Pretty much like some motorcyclists do to us. True, but go to London and you meet a breed of cyclist where the bad ones seem to be as many as the good ones!
  23. One of the big greats of our time. Grew up listening to a lot of his stuff in the 90s. Brilliant musician, and a huge loss. True to form he released an album just days before his death. Was a good sign off.
  24. Like I mention, it's only a solution if that's how the bike was set up like the Aprilia I referenced, it had no idle screw, its idle was controlled by throttle position held by the cable. Crude wasn't the word Bike only has a handful of sensors if it's like the CBF. Moos CBF does have an idle control screw, and it was cutting out so I replaced the lot and fuel pump. It was inexpensive and cured the issue!
  25. I remember joining here thinking "This forum is the the new kid on the block so this should be good". And it was
