  3. did you apply some copper grease to the back of the pads, often helps (assuming its disc brakes) if it didntr squeek when you got it, then you did something
  4. nice bit of creosote would bring those wheels up nice, and maybe give the caliper a coat of hammerite in a colour of your choice to brighten them up

  7. Ok i'm new to being on the bigger bike, and enjoy the comrades I converse with and have met. SO i feel like doing some weekend rides, while the weather is reasonable so I have an Idea. In Maidstone we have a newish biker cafe called RECA, my plan would be to meet up here on the day of choice and then head off to tunbridge wells along the A roads, then down the A26 through crowborough and join up with the A272. Once on the A272 we follow it until we get to our destination Loomies for lunch. Its about 100 miles one way, so be a good ride and day out. If people wanna join up en route we could arrange meeting spots. Good thing about this is the route will be simple to follow as basically 1 road. what do people think.
  8. after watching an episode of wheeler dealers, Edd CHina recommends a high grade wet wet and dry with plenty of elbow grease.. being alloy i would just try some brasso or metal polish.
  9. I have sunglasses with for daytime use only printed on the arm..... cant see anything out of them during the day, so bugger wearing them at night whats the benefit of an iridium one anyway? apart from looking like an astronaut

  19. I may be misunderstanding this, but are you saying NOT to feather the clutch, but instead control the speed using your rear brake? what i think hes saying is...... lifesaver, pull away, life saver, breather, start turn with high rev's, clutch control and the rear brake being dragged to add control.... its what i did second time. just practice in a carpark some where.. i did 120 uturns the day before my retest to make sure i had it nailed
  20. I would say go for for the full A licence. As you are not under 24, so would have no choice, there is no real benefit to restricting yourself to the A2. The tests are the same either way, the only difference is the bike they are taken on: An A2 test is on a bike of at least 395cc and between 33 and 47bhp. An A test in on a bike of at least 595cc and a minimum of 53.6bhp. took an A licence then bought an A2 bike (CB500F)

  22. at 40 your just younger than me. i did cbt then theory. you can ride a 125cc with l plates or a 50cc without. you have 2 years from the date on tyour cbt to pass your licence. as for timing contact your local training centre and they can work something out for you, they are good like that. i failed mod1 and mod 2, but donr be phased by it.. just chill and enjoy i rode a 125 for 18months found it brilliant, the training school will hire you a bike for test days, and provide it for training. i took my test on a 650cc for A licence, but decided to get a 500cc (a2) for commuting, chat with your training school is all i can reccommend
  23. just noticed that grom has the same dash as my cb500
