My LGPS is independently managed, its one of the best performing groups in the UK

and has enough funds to pay pensions for the next 20 years if contributions stopped now

It does not rely on the taxpayer

My company pension was in a similer position some years ago in fact it would have become self funding (so I was told). The company then (as money was tight) chose to take a contrbution holiday !

If you are doing it to remove the paint then use paint stripper. Most blasting media are quite abrasive and will damage any threaded holes. For a good decorative effect you could strip and then have glass bead blasted at a high pressure ensuring saturation, and then plenty of clear coats. Glass bead is non abrasive but peens the surface.

Politicians all seem to be liars because they try to tell us they are different to the others. The fact is there is only one way to avoid the current climate and they are all doing the same thing just with different headlines.

The idea that you buy a failing business (northern rock), bring it back to a working profit using your own money and then sell it at a loss speaks volumes to me, they don't care !

As for poverty in other parts of the world, we have over the years given millions, nothing has changed. £27M raised on Saturday night (CiN) would make a lot of difference in the UK, but we give most of it away to corrupt countries who have even less interest in their nationals than our government do in ours.
