  1. Get well soon grumpy!
  2. Six, I didn't say anyone on here did mate but there is a common misconception on the wonderweb. Joe, your right, they don't feel overly quick eh? I was not overly impressed with the power.
  3. They drink oil, not burn it. The oil is used to also lubricate the apex seals and that's why it goes through it. It's not as bad as some would make you believe. I owned one in June, sold it in August (because of my crash/funding new bike). They can rust in areas and if they have not been looked aft by a specialist, avoid. Even Main dealers are pants with these cars. They have a very finicky engine, which is prone to flooding if proper procedure isn't followed. If flooded on early cars it's not a problem, but on the later cars it's not such an easy fix. Engine MUST be warmed up before switching off. Interior is nice and sporty, the Bose system is pretty pants. Some suffer hot start issues, if that's the case, avoid. The rotary engine WILL need stripping at least once in its life too, so factor that in. Handling is amazing, perfect 50/50 and very predictable. As standard they sound sweet, especially up to the 9k redline! Cheap aftermarket manifold and exhausts available, but not much more power to be gained from the rotary. Gearbox can be a bit sticky but they last. The 231 is the one to have imo but for a 231bhp car they feel much, much less powerful. Yes, they are thirsty as fook. I bought mine for the track, but going over a VW Passat near BSE changed that, and it's now in Belguim! Bottom line, they are a marmite car that you must test drive and deffo buy with your head with one of these, not your heart. If you are dead set, get a proper compression test done by a decent independent. To be honest mate, a type R will be a better more reliable bet.
  4. Happy new year to all
  5. Mine was my Crispy design graphic kit Worst just be socks. But it was an amazing xmas! Edit: I did get Satr Wars Battlefront for Xbox one, that's amazing too
  6. Ah Tron Legacy! I thought I was alone with my liking of that. "Flynn!! Am I still to create the perfect system?" The gif in the signature gives it away somewhat No mate it's a cracking film. On a big screen, surround sound, great soundtrack...and a massive bonus is Olivia Wilde in skin tight clothing...what's not to like
  7. All Star Wars's (expect the phantom menace shite) Top Gun Weird Science Tron Legacy Saving Private Ryan Black Hawk Down Gravity Band of Brothers (Not a film as such but by far the best thing to ever grace TV)
  8. Won't be able to get on much over the next few days as operation clean up and wrap is under way... So just wanted to wish all of you a happy Christmas and even more, a prosperous new year. Hoping to get on a fair few ride outs next year and meet you guys. Anyways.... Enjoy and I hope Santa brings you all some biking bling Mart
  9. I thought it was amazing (sorry). I'm a huge Star Wars fan and thought that JJ Abrams did very well. It's never gonna beat the original three but it was very, very good. Carrie fisher should have had a few Vodkas before shooting though, she looked like she needed it. Her bottom jaw wasn't working properly. Overall I thought it was great, and will go and see it again in 3D next time...
  10. I'm not going through this thread yet as I've booked to see it tonight and can't wait I remember my dad taking me to see Episode 4 in Cambridge when I was a little kid and remember that moment when the star destroyer comes over on the first scene. My little jaw dropped and to this day I'm still an avid Star Wars fan. Just a pity about the Phantom Menace, load of dog shit. I'm taking my son tonight, so it's gone full circle. An I can't f**king wait
  11. I'll keep an eye out for him now, most of that was done where I work lol.
  12. Now that would be quality!
  13. I bet there is a certain female doctor with a grin like a Cheshire Cat right now....and rightly so
  14. I think that was a typo Double your stopping distance on wet roads. No, I meant be able to stop in half the distance you can see to be clear Phil, I'm not rubbishing your statement mate, but yes you are right about positioning affecting a lot when you ride. And to say that positioning is only a small part of it, that was wrong on my part, it's a big part of it...
  15. I'm sorry what? There's a certain scene in Borat I think of when I hear a statement like that. Haha made me laugh that! Bad terminology lol.
  16. Haha mate that has happened before, luckily I wasn't involved. Plenty of tweets lol.
  17. Rome wasn't built in a day mate it all comes down to experience, and learning by it. Taking it easy is a good thing, far too many people go at it too hard, and suffer the consequences. Personally I'd say that positioning is only a small part of it, and my riding style differs from wet to dry quite a bit. Get the basics under your belt, then maybe try more advanced techniques like limit points etc. Always make sure you can stop in the distance you can see to be clear, and on wet roads, halve it. Stay safe mate
  18. I would like to nominate the pair of fisters I got hold of last night. They won't be spending Christmas at home...
  19. Gin that'd be a great day, however I've got to sort UKARA out again and get some decent kit again, all mine is sold. I'd deffo be up for that though
  20. I agree . The realism of some are almost indistinguishable from the real steel version. I had a G&P CQBR a while back and to most people it just looked real. That's was from Airsoft Armouries I've not been in ages now and have no UKARA validation anymore.
  21. Oi!! I think you'll find most do understand it . When the VCRA/PRA was introduced legislating the sale of air weapons, the sale of airsoft guns was also tightened, including definitions of imitation forearms, RIF's etc. In the states replicas and airsoft have to have orange muzzles, maybe they should here? I'd like think that responsible airsoft players (and I go now and again) would carry their weapons responsibly and the vast majority I've come across do, but there are some dickheads.
  22. Undertaking is not illegal and has not been so since it was removed from the 1972 Road Traffic Act. Copper was wrong and unfortunately this occurs more and more where traffic cops do not know traffic law. The only offence available is careless or dangerous driving, but it has to be established that the standard of driving fell well below the standard expected of a reasonably safe and competent driver or rider. The single act of undertaking is insufficient to prove that offence. Speed does not even enter the equation either. If the undertaking vehicle weaves from lane to lane at high speed and it includes undertaking, then there may be a case to answer, but any copper who tells you that undertaking is illegal is talking out of their backside and they should know better. If you were booked for the offence of undertaking, then let me know, because unless you rie or drive like a complete knob, then you commit no offence. Even in crashes, the courts have had to accept that undertaking is legal and I have had a few where we have won the day because the defence used undertaking as ther statutory defence and have come unstuck big time, because ........ their client comitted the specific offence of centre lane hogging which is actually driving without reasonable cnsidertaion to other road users which is a sub section of section 3 of the 1988 Road traffic act, careless driving. Apart from which the centre lane hogger also has a statutory duty of care (and this applies to all road users) to ensure that it is safe to return back to lane 1 (or any other lane) before they change lane. So by all means, if any copper tells you in the future that it is illegal, feel free to give them my compliments and tell tem that they are talking out of their @rse and that if booked, you want your day in court where you will contest it. Totally agree.
  23. Lol embrace it whilst you can And get in as many multiplayer call of duty games as you can and nail him on it. In a few years time he'll make you look stupid on it, doing things that seem impossible!
  24. Yeah Wood Green and Tottenham Hale have quite bad reputations and I can think of a few incidents in the last four years but I think the majority were stabbings rather than shootings (which isn't really better but I'm not sure the gun gang problem is quite as bad as some fear mongering media will have you believe Yes the majority are stabbings for sure, however gun enabled crime is also on the up. The gangs problem in London is out of control. I've worked in East London for over 10 years now and it's shocking how it's evolved. ARV crews get lots of overtime lol
  25. I was being rhetorical In this country everything is decided by committee, thats why nothing ever gets done or agreed But in all seriousness, yes a command decision has to be given or exact instructions issued. It is no different to pursuits. Traffic cars are the only ones these days to be involved (because of our training) but the control room inspector has to authorise the applying of TPAC, stingers or anything else, and usually he/she wll get authorisation from a higher rank. It is caled passing the buck This must be a counties thing? I can pursue as a class 1, I'm not traffic... for a spontaneous situation, an officer would not require authority to draw his sidearm and pull the trigger. He would justify his actions, rightly or wrongly, and the result of the force used would be scrutinised for years to come by IPCC and proffesional standards. pre planned armed incidents are very different. Did anyone see that documentary on the Met a few months back? There are committees just to make basic decisions and that is truly tragic. A waste of resources by people who are so far out of touch they don't even understand grass roots policing.
